Best small rifle primer for 6br

I'm really hoping that everyone agrees. LOL
What primer do you like for the lighter bullets (68g)
in the straight 6br?
205m, BR4, Rem. 7 1/2 or another.

68 gr in a 6br?

What twist barrel?

Part of load development. Have to see what the rifle likes.

You can go to the 6br section of accurate shooter and they have the loads many competitive shooters use. 88 or 95 gr is about as light as they go.

there really is not a one primer fits all situation, go with what primer appears to get you the furthest but if a situation is just fighting you throw on a different primer more often than not it will shape in a manor that you can win with but don't expect it to be on the same charge as previous primer it can and will shift a couple tenths as a winner with the implementation of a different primer. primers are like humans even though we are labeled as humans each of us may prefer a different flavor of ice cream.

They use the 65-68 in short range br with a 13-14tw barrel.

...the CCI 400's gave the best ES and Sd...

I did a similar test loading for my Dasher, tried CCI400, Tula556M, Rem 7 1/2, CCI BR4 The SD respectively was 3.59, 4.47, 10.12, 12.4.
I only ran the CCI400’s because I had a few hundred from years ago (not a normally used primer). I retested the BR4’s and Tula’s and saw no appreciable difference between the tests. So, since I had 5000 Tula’s they became my choice and have been very accurate and consistent.
I was surprised that the BR4’s didn’t do better, but three strings of 10 shots didn’t change the results.

The long and short of all this, testing components, bullets, powder and primers takes time, but once you have acceptable repeatable results you’re good to go.

Was just hoping for once their would be a magical primer. LOL
I use the 450's with heavier bullets and in a 6x47. Have some BR4's and going to pickup some 205m's
Krieger 13.5 tw, 22 inch, N135 and Barts 68g Avengers. This is for 300yds. and closer.
Will work up a load starting with the BR4's and see how it shoots and then adjust the powder
down a couple .1's and swap out the primers and see what the target tells me.
Thanks for all the help. ;)

why didn't you start by asking for best primer in 6br WITH N135 and 68's to start with ???

details details details

I kind of did. Left out the N135

Never used anything but the CCI450 in 6BR or 6 Dasher.
That said, I thought the Federal Gold Medal Match was the ideal primer for my fast twist 223 loads. A curious test showed me I was way off base.
I won't budge off the CCI 450 for the BR (too many small groups to disprove it)stuff but now I do test primers in most everything else.

I only know what works for me’ but In all fairness you could probably build a decent load around most any of those popular primers, I also think if and when tested side by side one will rise above the others in the end.
