Best Pocket Knife

For folding knives, when I find one I like, I stick to it for a long time. Currently I've been carrying a Spyderco Military in Rex45 steel. Its a somewhat larger folding knife, but the Paramilitary is a smaller version that is nice.

That being said, when I'm not at work I almost always carry a small fixed blade, something with a 2-3 inch blade like a bird and trout pattern or a small hunter. I have many custom ones of those I really enjoy.
 
Ì don't carry this one but its my favorite out of a couple 100 knifes I have

My every day walk around knife is a standard little red Victorinox pocket knife or a little cheaper Kershaw that im not afraid to lose, these new non USA made Kershaw's are sh$t .

I have to agree with this ideation. On my belt in pouches are three tools. For me if it goes into my pocket, I am bound to lose it, it a pouch not so. Gerber multi tool which has served me well since1997, Swiss pocketknife and a folding four-inch lock blade Gerber. Another consideration is sharpening, how is one to do it?

I lived near a famous knife maker who liked me. I'd visit with my dull ones & some beer. Don Putnam was my go-to sharpen & sheath guy. The Man was a joy to watch & just sit with & listen to. My EDC is a CRKT M21-02G
Cheapy but a goody for the 4 years I have carried it has proven to be very reliable and fast.
Now when I'm up the bush it's a different knife good old classic standby the buck 110 never leave home without it been using those for 30 years I have 2 of them. .

A sharpening thread sounds like a good idea!

I have an older Schrade Old Time and like it very much. Was looking at them a while back and noticed they were made in China. Does anyone know how the China made knifes compare with the USA made ones?
 
I have an old yellow handled case trapper that belonged to a carpenter i worked partners with for a few years. He was an older guy that I really liked and when he passed his son (i went to high school with) gave me his old knife. He never used a utility knife he just used the pocket knife and sharpened it every mourning. The main blade is like a tooth pick. Can this blade be replaced without ruining the knife? If so who would do that sort of thing?
