Best bullet you ever shot.

I include customs as best bullet I’ve shot. Vapor trails even sort better than anything I’ve tried. These are sorted by OAL in .002 increments , I get three bullets that fall slightly outside my parameter

Nicely done @Tom E
Then my answer has to be changed because my 105gr Barts Gungnirs are the most consistent 6mm target bullet I’ve ever loaded or shot. Far better than the Berger 105gr Hybrids. Not to mention Bart is a true gentleman, world class shooter, and is always a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Bart.

Nosler .375 Partition 300 gr gets my vote for best bullet when protecting your lunch.

**PS: What I forgot to mention was that this bullet, out of my Remington 700 .375 H&H stainless "Guide" model (short barrel), shot 3 round cloverleaf groups, all touching. In a moment of weakness, I sold this to a gent from Kenai, Alaska, who needed it much worse than I did.

Just curious. Excluding hand swaged. What’s the most accurate bullet you’ve ever shot, and what cartridge was it for? Let’s say, 1,000 yards and in. Obviously many factors go into an accurate round, but just for the sake of argument.
It was a Berger in 2016. I tired and tried to find it so I could use it again but, alas, it was gone for good.
Haven't had one like it since.

Most-accurate, for me, was in a semi-custom Rem 700 SPS Varmint .243 using factory Hornady 95gr SST (tipped) bullets with the factory SST load. But then, I wasn't reloading then and had only done a custom-bedded composite stock and Jewell trigger; barreled action was bone stock. It occasionally did sub-1/2" groups and regularly did 5/8" groups, at 300yds. No idea what that rifle might have done with high-grade reloads, though I was fairly pleased with that accuracy out of that rifle.

Well I haven’t shot them yet but man these Hornady A-tips measure great. I will be surprised if they won’t group well but that’s why we test right?

50 bullets. Zero measurable base to ogive variation. .001” total overall length variation and 45 of the 50 were exactly the same at 1.3855”. They weigh well too. I was very surprised.

Dave.

Those measure better than several custom bullets I’ve sorted.

I shot Clarence Hammonds 6mm bullets fro 63 to 68 grain in my 6ppcs from 1998 until now. Last 50 are loaded. This was in about 25 different barrels, they would always shoot zeros/ ones. Won a lot of matches out to and including 500 yards with them. Now they are gone so I have a collection to try out this spring in with a new barrel in a 12 twist for the first time.
I've tried to reach him by phone and by email and can't get through. Has he recently gone out of business~?

There are many that have been really good at times. 22 cal 73 Bergers are very good. The use to make a 6mm 74 gr that was super as well. Both the 80 and 90 grainers are very good and easy to tune bullets. The Sierra 69 gr 22 cal as well as their 53 gr match was always a solid performer.
Berger dropped many sku's several years back and IMHO, they dropped some of their best. One example was their 30 cal 110 gr bullet. They dropped it for their 115 that they still make. I've never seen a batch of the 115's that shot like the old 110's did yet. Pencil pushers won out over some really good products when they scaled back. I bet they cut their product line to 1/3rd of what it use to be, or close to it. I think I might still have a chart/poster from back then that showed all they made. If I find one, I'll post a pic.

edit: I found one but it's not the one I was looking for. It's a little newer than what I was looking for. It may turn up when I'm not actually looking for it. Lol!
