Best Bolt Grease?

Anything that is synthetic and low/high operating temperature range compatible with our application will work well.

I use STOS by Ponsness Warren.
Yup,. I've been using THIS ^^^ ,.. For Decades !
STOS stands for,. Slicker Than Owl Shit
And,.. IT,.. IS !
Works even in the Cold, Idaho Winters !

I have no idea what the best grease is for guns, I use Lucas and a few others. If you ask me what the best smelling grease is I vote weapons shield, pretty good grease too. Even my wife notices when I have the lid off.

I've been using Mil-comm's TW25B for several years now. Like it a lot.

Starting out I bought a couple of their small closable syringes. When those ran low I bought their 4 oz tube (linked above) for refilling the smaller applicators that live in my range and cleaning kits.
This is exactly what I use and what a few great shooters I know use. It doesn’t smell bad, wipes off fingers easily, and seems to stay in place for entire strings, even at 100F shooting temps. It’s available on Amazon and not too expensive.

I have been using Mobil 1red synthetic grease for a years. It seems to do the job. One can will last two lifetimes.

I would advise against any grease with Moly, the moly particles are 5 micron and hard enough to be abrasive and wear away the metal, you swill possibly be continuously lapping your lugs. This is why you never use moly on bearings or u-joints. (Slip yokes would be a good place to use moly.) I was also told that a grease that is tacky, as in stringing is not advisable. Tacky is a sign of a grease that the particles are attracted to itself, you want a grease with adhesion properties, one that resist being wiped off. I like Mobil 28 Aviation grease, it's clay based vers a lithium soap based. (I got educated by a Shell lube expert when I asked about what grease would work best on bolts.)

I use CLP but I use Duragard Lubriplate L0043-004 No. 130-A, Gun Grease on my m1. Should I be using bolt grease on my bolt guns? My actions are pretty smooth so I honestly never really thought about it. Always ready to learn something new though.
