Tetra Gun Grease is absolutely the best stuff I have ever found. Initially was using it on my M1A and I started using it on a gun, now I use it on almost all metal-to-metal contact areas for every action. Also does great for corrosion resistance.

Laugh all you want....IDEAL Garage Door PRO LUBE. It's a synthetic spray that works in all temps and stays where you put it with a built in adhesive. It has literally changed a sticky bolt rifle that was thoroughly cleaned into a different smooth, slick action rifle that feels like a totally custom action rifle for me.

I use a secret recipe that I made and actually started using on my fishing reels...... seems to work well.

Secret formula: I call it "Reel Sauce"

Mix the following three in equal amounts and apply sparingly as needed.
1. Quantum Hot Sauce
2. Whale oil
3. Reel Butter Oil

A word of caution on bolt grease. Use the stuff that tends to string and cling to itself. You don't need much. Too much is bad. As in, getting into your BixN'Andy trigger and causing it to malfunction. A friend had this happen to him during cold weather.

I agree on the stringy part. It will stick and stay the best and take less of it. Some grease just isn't made to be like that. Water repelling greases are like that to differing degrees. That's why I like the blue stuff. Well, that and because it's cheap. -- If you're in doubt, buy some of the high-dollar stuff.

I sometimes wonder if choices are made on geographic location. What works at 0 degrees may not be best at 100 degrees and vice versa. Then there is the desert sands of Phoenix and the lush greenery of Michigan.

Weapon Shield grease. Made a measurable reduction in trigger pull weight over Slip2000 grease when applied to the sear of my .308. From 2lb to 1-3/4lb.
