Ok I wasn't sure if the fine articles were the normMany also have a dot of 3/32 or so in size.
I'm looking at the sightron because I still have other things I need to buy..For short range BR, I would choose a fixed power scope. I have tested many and would recommend one of these: Valdada 40X BR, NF 42X, Sightron 45 ED, March 40X. These are light enough and all have great optics and tracking.
The weight is the issue with this scope .. got to be around 22ozI have a Sightron SIII 10-50X60 LRTD.
Fine reticle with small dot in center. 1/8 MOA clicks.
I like the variable because i can change magnification on a bad mirage day.
And you can usually pick up a good used one under $1,000.
Yes sir that's what I'm hunting for.. most places only have fch modelsI have the Sightron 45X and really like it so far. I need that leedle dot for my old eyes.

What's cost on it?They are available
Well I'm in the same boat I don't have great eyes either.. I wear contacts an they are a + 6.00. I would love a medium crosshair if I could find oneI've tried lots of times to shoot a crosshair with a dot and just don't care for them. I prefer a crosshair and center hold, BUT not a fine one. I'm not getting any younger and struggling with Cataracts, I don't want to search for fine crosshairs in heavy mirage, would rather have them a bit heavier as I find it faster to acquire and
easier to hold off with. Something like the 1st issue black Leupold 36 in size. Currently I'm using a 45 power Leupold, the 42 power Nightforce, and on my Rail, the 36 power Leupold I started with 33 years ago.
