Barrel cleaning ..oven cleaner??

This is what I do: use a loose fitting patch soaked in Kroil. Run it through the barrel several strokes so it leaves a coating of Kroil. Let it sit for a couple of days. It will penetrate under the carbon ring between the ring and the steel of the barrel. Then push a patch soaked with your favorite bore cleaner, I use Butch's Bore Shine, through the barrel. Any carbon will literally come out the end of your barrel in round forms on the end of the patch.

Professional Automotive Grade injector cleaner will work. This is only available through the vehicle manufactures unless you know someone.

Wipe Out has worked great for me. I use the above on my Desert Eagle as for some reason it loves to carbon up, and has places that are very hard to get to.

Exact method I use. If a load gives significant carbon during work up I scrap that recipe no matter how well it might shoot.

I worked up some loads for a friends 30-06 Ruger 77 a few weeks back, and it fouiled like rust in 3 shots. Tried a bunch of stuff, but Montana Extreme really cleaned it up. Barlow
