Bad luck streak selling items this last few weeks

A simple "Thanks for the pictures but I'll pass" would not take a lot of effort.

And to the ones that want seconds if the first falls through, at least let them know.

Sorry for your bad experience but as the form grows so will the morels of the membership. Paying members or not things will change. All the more reason for Platinum membership.......JMHO!

With close to 80 transactions here buying and selling combined I have been fortunate in all of them. If I ever sell anyone anything that does not at least turn out to be what I claimed or promised I would gladly return the $$$. I believe most here would say the same thing.

Dealing with new non paying members is a good thing. Sometimes they become members after a good transaction. Everybody has to start somewhere. Its a pretty simple process- if youre selling and a guy you dont know wants it mark it sold pending funds. Leave the ad there. Once you get the money from paypal or get a check cashed ship the item. Id say if youre a seller or buyer you need to use paypal. I wish yall knew how inconvenient a check is for me. Its all a risk here buying and selling you just gotta act like you dont trust anybody you dont know. Gold, platinum, doesnt matter just use your best judgement. Some are here just for the buying and selling. I want their business too

Some times you have to wait on the check and then when you get the check the buyer complains so much that you have the check to send the item. I always wait a few days on large amounts before sending the item till I hear word from the bank that the check clears. Some people don't understand that transfer of funds take time with the banks even if its a certified check. I usually get it to the bank on the day I received the check and send the item the day the check clears or verified.

I would also advocate not to buy anything over $150 without talking to the person LIVE, by VOICE, over the telephone.

I would say that in 90+% of the actual true fraud cases here (not just people "re-thinking" the purchase), the buyer was so hot to make the deal that money was sent with NO PHONE CALL. And, in most cases the buyer did not verify the seller's real address associated with the email. You can do this on Spokeo.com for a modest fee.

Thanks to several members on this site....I've purchased 2 6bra rifles, 2 vortex GE scopes, a nice rear bag.
It really helped me getting into the mid-LR BR game. Of course still learning from all the other folks on here.
I have always been more of a reader trying to absorb what a lot guys are talking about and not much to add if I'm not knowledgeable about the subject. I've been shooting and reloading for a long time, just not at the level of these top shooters.
I think Dusty hit the nail square on the head. i will probably become a paying member here soon.

I’m pretty cautious so I guess I’ve been lucky. The only “bad” transaction I’ve had was my error in not describing something well enough and assumptions were made by the buyer. The buyer and I worked it out and in the end he got an even better deal. One’s reputation is worth more than a few dollars.

I'm closer to the end than the beginning. Long ago, made a life choice concerning how I will live my life. I ain't perfect but I try to live by the Golden Rule. Attempt to follow this rule in every action I take. Another is; I don't contact anyone until I am ready to buy and have alerted my wife to my proposed action. Years ago thought I had sold a scope to another fellow, only to find out one of my sons sold it to a buddy. I contacted the other person immediately and explained the situation, he understood. With out your word, you don't have much.

I have to say I've had nothing but great experiences on this site, the cast boolets site, and the Bullseye list.

Ebay can KMA, I've had a couple go great & more than one turned out to be "less than advertized".
