ADVERTISING 'MISLEADING AND OF HORNADY AND MIDSOUTH SHOOTERS SUPPLY

ADVERTISING 'MISLEADING AND OF HORNADY AND MIDSOUTH SHOOTERS SUPPLY
Excuse me, maybe if I am writing on the wrong page! I write from Italy, and unfortunately I know very little English. In fact, I use the computer translator, which is perhaps the worst of my English!
Unfortunately happened to me an unfortunate fact.
Having two daughters in New York, they told me what I wanted to bring as a gift. Being passionate about weapons and charging, I asked him to bring some items for charging, including the Case Activated Powder Drop (Hornady RELOADING TOOLS - Price: $ 50.83 - Item: 005-050073)
Having seen the item on the site of Hornady, I thought, for a small fee higher than the dosing Lee, I would have had a much better item, and without any plastic part. So I ordered the item from 'Italy, at Midsouth and I did ship to New York from my daughters, along with all the accessories recommended. The item is:
http://www.midsouthshooterssupply.com/item.asp?sku=00005050073
I was sure, I got the item, as shown in the photo in the brochure.
However, after shipping, I saw on the site
https://www.10ring.com/reloading/reloading-equipment/powder-handling/powder-accessories
that in fact I had bought an item completely different from what was represented in the pictures of the catalog of Hornady, and also that I had bought the same item twice (# 005-050074), as both Hornady Midsouth is recommending the purchase, without saying, however, that was included in the kit.
I believe that this way of doing advertising and represent the items offered for sale, is very inconvenient and not very honest. Also my daughters can not return the item and its accessories, because having bought many items (I spent about $ 600), they can not identify the items that should be returned.
Could I return from Italy, but the cost of shipping and insurance, is very high (they are all metal objects and heavy), and perhaps it is equal to the price of the dispenser 005-050069, I need to operate the items I bought. I asked to refund the money Midsouth shipment from 'Italy, but I was not completely answered. In addition Midsouth does not have this item, and I had to buy from Natchez, paying other costs of shipping and insurance.
I am very surprised that Hornady and Midsouth behave in this way: I will, in time past, I have had great experiences on the fairness and honesty of the great American Companies.
Since you are in big trouble you can tell me some website that report what happened?
Thank you all, and I apologize for my English and if I put my post on a page incorrect.
Dr. Francesco Di Santo.

P.S. I also reported what happened to Hornady, pointing out that a couple of years ago, I had received from America a electronic scale that did not work, and I had asked them to replace it. Hornady answered that I had to ship it to the dealer Italian Bignami, who would then ship the balance in America. But having been acquired in America, I had to pay all shipping and insurance. Also, I would have to pay taxes Italian (21% VAT + customs fees): at the end I would have spent much more than the cost of a new scale. I pointed out the inconvenience to Hornady, but they refused to change it.
Now I reminded them what happened, and Hornady replies:
"Regarding the scale, it is our policy to get the defective item back prior to shipping a replacement. We have been contacted in the past by customers Claiming to have a defective product and Requesting a replacement without ever having Purchased the item initially. "
I found this answer very, very offensive!

Welcome!

I can't offer too much advice, but would like to clarify one thing in your post:

Do you mean your daughters can't figure out the correct item, or Midsouth?

In this sentence, you told me I'm in big trouble... I hope not!
(just joking with you :) )

Don't be offended! Many people in the world love getting free stuff, and a lot of people will even do unethical things to get free stuff. The Internet, and phone sales, allow those unethical people to scam other people and companies. That's happened so much over the internet, that all companies had to change their return policies to help prevent it. Hornady's response is an honest one... it's sad, but it's true.

It is difficult for persons to do transactions across oceans and cultures.

Manufacturers have catalogues, and independent dealers have their own websites - which are in no way connected to the manufacturers. So Midsouth and Hornady are not conspiring against you. It is the nature of doing business across oceans.

AS to the statement... "Regarding the scale, it is our policy to get the defective item back prior to shipping a replacement. We have been contacted in the past by customers Claiming to have a defective product and Requesting a replacement without ever having Purchased the item initially. "
I found this answer very, very offensive!"

In past years, reloading manufacturers would send you a new item if yours was broken, often without you having to return the defective one first, or at all. People took advantage of the manufacturers and claimed a defective item, but never even had bought one, hoping that they would get a free one. Now, many manufacturers do not replace defective items without receiving the bad one first.

Sorry you were insulted. Life is changing for all of us.

And I might add, it is not any easier for US citizens to order items from Europe either.

First of all, I thank all those who answered me.
I also wish to respond.
As I said I write computer translator serving me, but unfortunately the translator is wrong to put the subject, and writes "YOU" instead of "I"! .
The phrase "Since you are in big trouble" is actually "I am in big trouble"!
Who can not identify the item they are my daughters, who do not know weapons and recharge!
In Italy there is a law that says that if a seller offers a lower price by mistake, it needs to sell at the advertised price. Also, if he puts the picture of an object, it is required to deliver the item as shown in the picture.
I do not believe that Hornady and Midsouth are conspiring against me: I'm just saying the way they sell is wrong and dishonest: if I see an item, I want the dealer send me what I've seen, as shown in the catalog, or that the seller warns that an item can not work if people do not laq
buy another item.
In fact, 10-Rings correctly represents the item sold, and prevents the buyer buy the same item twice (005-050074)
I asked other people in other forums, and they said that other companies more honest, in such cases, they sent them for free the items advertised incorrectly.
I wrote this post to find out if there is an office in the USA and in Italy that keeps consumers.
Finally I find it very sad that there are people who pretend to buy items ever bought! Maybe because I'm 67 years old!

I see what you mean now.

Midsouth and Hornady show this:

and the 10-ring website shows this:

Both pictures shown above are for the same part number (005-050073). The 10-ring picture is a far more accurate depiction of the part.

When you ordered that item (part # 005-050073), were you expecting to receive everything pictured on the Midsouth advertisement? (including the red powder measure).

Also, you ordered part #005-050074 (shown below), because you thought that you needed it, but it was already included in the first item (005-050073). Am I correct to assume that's part of your problem?

I'm trying to fully understand your problem, so That I can then try to help you further.

The Hornady website shows one dealer in Italy:

Bignami
Via Lahn 1
39040 Ora (BZ)
Italy
39 0471 80 30 45
39 0471 81 08 99
www.bignami.it

You could try speaking with them, but I don't know if they could help, since the order was placed through Midsouth.
You could make the argument that the Hornady website is misleading as well, since Midsouth and Hornady use the same picture.

Do you understand perfectly!
The problem is that I do not like being teased, partly because a couple of years ago, I have brought from USA an electronic scale Hornaday, that did not work. I asked Hornady to change it, but Hornaday insisted I send out the scale. I replied that the cost of insurance and shipping were higher in the cost of the scale (the scale was the economic model), so they have not changed. Since then I have not bought anything from Hornady!
Now, I remembered what had happened, and they said:
"Regarding the scale, it is our policy to get the defective item back prior to shipping a replacement. We have been contacted in the past by customers Claiming to have a defective product and Requesting a replacement without ever having Purchased the item initially."
To say such a thing in Italy is very offensive, because he wants to say:
"You're a cheater, but not I can tell you directly!"
Hornady at the end, says that they can do me the favor to let me pay the $ 57.96 item. Maybe it seems to them that I am a beggar! I bought the same item from Natchez to $ 61.99, with a pack of 100 bullet free! ($ 32 value!).
At this point I will continue to do as I have done to date:
REDDING! (or if you do not want the best, RCBS or LEE if I want something very cheap)

OK, so now that I understand your problem, I'm not sure that I can help in any way. :(

I agree that the pictures, and lack of description, for the items are very misleading. The vendor, or distributor, should take a return and pay for the shipping if their advertisements are the source of the problem. I've run into this problem myself with other items I've ordered over the internet. In most cases the vendor would not pay for return shipping. Although I disagree with that, it's just the way it is. Unfortunately for you, Your shipping charges are very high, so it's not even worth the money to send the items back.

I think your best chance at returning any items would be to go through Bignami. I'm surprised they wouldn't help you when you told them the items were ordered from the U.S.

If there's anything I can do to help, just let me know.
