What are the odds on this happening?

Many years ago I had some guns stolen from a friend's house. I had been sick in the hospital and got him to take them home since no one was at my house. Of course they broke into his house and cleaned both of us out. He was a pretty crazy guy so he started asking every and anyone if they knew of the most identifiable guns for sale. Finally a guy said someone had tried to sell a Winchester 62A (mine that I really wanted back). He paid the guy $100 to take him to a club where the guy hung out and identify him. Once identified, my friend went in and played pool with the guy, then told him to step outside, he had something he might be interested in. Once outside, he got him to the side of the building and the guy said "what you got man". He said "this" and stuck a Bersa .22 into the guys nose and said "where are my guns?" The guy started crying and pulled the gun down from his nose and my friend said let go or I'll shoot. At that time my friends backup stepped around the corner, pulled out a 6" S&W .357, and said "if he don't kill you I will". End of story, we got some of the stuff back including my 62A, the thief got convicted and paid us $1000 in restitution.
