No, you didn't hurt my feelings at all. I am just interested in keeping an open mind and would like to hear other points of view. You seem to be very dedicated to your candidate and I assume it must be for some very good reasons. I'm simply asking that you would please present your specific reasons for being so in favor your candidate whoever that happens to be. Thanks in advance for your honesty.
Absolute truth on my position. I was in support of first Jeb Bush and then John Kasich. Yes the moderate wing of the part. Here are some of my thoughts I have put together on why I could never support Trump.
Trump tools; racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, demagoguery.
In other words anti black or brown or anti anyone other than white, anti-women unless they know their place, then the women are cherished, anti-immigrants with special attention to Mexicans, Muslims and any and all people of color. Anti-gay rights to also include denial of transgender rights. Use fear to convince your supporters you are the only one that can save them. People of color, immigrants, gays and women have been "screwing over" the working white guy by taking his jobs and holding him accountable for his actions and words, i.e. political correctness. Make America great again is merely code for putting minorities and protected groups including women back in their place.
Trump would become the strong man and protector, we have had a few throughout history. Trump has adapted their playbook and it seems to be working.
The founding fathers of this country spent years hammering out our present system of Constitutional government to guard against the likes of a would be dictator such as Donald Trump. Even if elected Trump will quickly learn about the separation of powers, the realities of the Executive branch of government not being able to override the Judicial and Legislative branches.
If you are hoping for a multibillion dollar wall on our southern border it is not going to happen without appropriation of funds from the House of Representatives and approval by the Senate before it goes to the President. And by the way Trump cannot unilaterally impose tariffs on Mexico to make them pay for the wall. Tariffs are set by the House of Representatives and approved by the Senate before it gets to the President.
If you are hoping for mass deportations, it is not going to happen without due process for each and every individual to be deported. The funds for such a massive and expensive endeavor would again have to be appropriated by the House of Representatives and approved by the Senate before it gets to the President.
If you are hoping for a ban on all Muslims entering the country Trump had already backed off on that one limiting the ban to apply to Syrian refuges only to which Trump has claimed tens of thousands are pouring in to the US without being vetted. So far the actual number is roughly 1700 refugees all of who have gone through a thorough vetting process. Now Trump is saying the ban on Muslims was "just a suggestion."
The next faze of broken promises has to do with Donald Trump self funding his campaign. The truth is the funding has come from a 36 million dollar loan from Trump to his campaign. According to sources close to Trump he may or not pay himself back for the campaign loan. Trump has until August to decide. In reality he has "interim" finance his campaign.
How about Trumps tax returns. First the releasing of his tax returns were being delayed due to being audited. Now he is saying he may or may not release his tax returns by the election.
One deception after another. If that blue collar Trump supporter thinks he was deceived by the elite wing of the Republican Party, which he has definitely been deceived, he ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to Trump.
The only consistently with Trump is his inconsistency. Anything and everything thing he says or does is subject to change at any time for any reason.
Because of my strong feelings against Trump I must support every effort to defeat Trump. I am going to vote for Hillary Clinton, a seriously flawed candidate who would easily be defeated by Bush or Kasich. I am locked into my position and not subject to changing my mind.
It is not over til it is over. Trump is the quarterback of a movement that is down by 34 points in the fourth quarter and continues to throw interceptions. Respectfully, Ray
