ATF at local gun show today

Hate. Hmmm. Yah, it's hate speech... That's what it is. Everything and everyone that says anything we don't like is filled with "hate". I'm sure someone will refer to a "tin foil hat" next. Then everyone will get a big laugh... no conspiracy here!!!

I mean it would be one thing to be in the 1980s and talk about the FUTURE take over of the US by some outside group. But it is 2022, and it's not in the future. It is happening. Shoot... It's happened. Here. Now. If you look around and see "America", just business as usual, I'm sorry you need to pull that mask you're wearing down below your eyes and take a look around.

They, meaning ATF is not our friend. They despise us gun owners. I'm convinced they see us as the enemy and that it is their solemn duty to keep us under watch, and what they think, in our place. Stealing our freedoms a little at a time.

I would say that certainly describes the new head of the ATF.

Everyone else is just following orders, right? Isn't that what they always say???

I see no problem with the ATF being at a gun show as long as they are willing and able to give accurate information. However, I think the covid mask is a good idea and I would want the name and badge number of any one of them giving information.

I called the NYS Trooper site about recertifying and the guy I talked to didn't know there was a difference between an Encore and Contender frame and thought a 357 Mag and a 38 Special were different calibers.

Sorry but name and badge number means nothing. They will be denying it while they're putting the handcuffs on you and hauling your ass away. I had them dead to rights, on paper, they were wrong it still cost me 10 grand.

I have held a FFL for over 20yrs. I have been 'inspected' 3 times and been 'interviewed' twice (changed license classification from 01 to 07). As posted in the above quote, that has not been my experience. "Stealing our freedoms a little at a time", that's the politicians who are doing that. I am sure there are 'overzealous" agents, but the contacts I have had have been civil, not treated like I was 'the enemy'. I had one, who had been to my shop, bring me a shotgun for repair and another, after doing the 'inspection', bought pistol ammo for their personal 'home gun'. You have to remember, the director of ATFE is a political appointee. The field personel that I have had contact with just want to go home at the end of the day and are more concerned with keeping guns out of the hands of those who should not have them. And some times, that might mean nit-picking over records and paper work.

Just to be clear, the ATF is not the "agents". The "agents" do what they are told, so they can remain employed.

The ATF works for the exceutive branch in Washington, and they take their orders from the lunatic who said that half of the country are potential terrorists.

I am amazed at this disconnect. On the one hand right wingers are obsessed with Joe Biden, but then they think an "agent" working for any of the agencies that directly guided by this same person are somehow on their side.

The new ATF head was specifically chosen to fulfill the wishes of these same lunatics. And the "agents" just follow orders. They have assumed the role of firearms regulatory agency, when NO SUCH THING IS SUPPOSED TO EXIST!!!

The disconnect is truly, truly disturbing to me.

I cant think of a single time in history the ATF has helped honest gun owners or kept us safe. I guess they kept the branch davidians from peddling their “machine guns” or kept mr weaver from selling that sawed off single barrel shotgun they conned him into sawing off. Its amazing to me this agency has taken our money for as long as they have.
 
You want to know all about how the ATF is your enemy read the book "UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES." by John Ross. It a very long read and covers a lifetime of gun history as well as being an exciting read. While I do not believe in everything the book talks about, It does tell you most of the ATF history and the outcome of where we are now. Anyone not having a copy, simply email me and I can send you a digital copy. The book is out of print and can be bought on Amazon but goes as high as $400.00, when it is available. You will find this book very hard to put down. Starts off slow but gets exciting very quickly.

Wasn't it Eric Holder who is working with the ATF that actually supplied the drug cartels with illegal weapons including machine guns? Didn't I read that somewhere in the news? Operation fast and furious was actually caught supplying illegal firearms to drug cartels in Mexico. I'm sure if one were to dig hard enough it wouldn't be hard to link the ATF to lots of operations like that. Certainly it wouldn't be difficult to link the department of Justice. Or the CIA. Who can forget how they were running cocaine up from South America and trading for guns in the process. And we're talking about cocaine that was being transported on c4 transport planes not a couple of suitcases by a stewardess on a Miami flight. Cargo planes full of drugs and guns. No one from the government actually denied that this was going on they just said it was in the interest of National security.
