ASS KICKIN

Well, I shot my FIRST PRS match on Sat. 59 years old, FAT, and WAAAAAYYY out of shape on a very hilly course of fire with a bunch of young whipersnappers!! I was done before I started. In fact.....Someone sent me a picture they posted on their web page......me sitting on the ground, defeated, in a crumpled heap with my blanky (soft gun case) .....embarrassing!!

#OLDAGESUCKS!

It's back to BR shooting for fatso!!

Tod

PS....anyone need any "like new" PRS STUFF?
PSS...what does this have to do with the 6br website.....well...I was shooting a 6mm....does that count?
Ahhhh, 59 is NOT old age!! Get a trainer, go on a diet, whip yourself into shape. Good luck and I mean it!!!

Funny story about being fat. Flash back, 1984 Mannhiem Germany Taylor Barracks. Me and Bill were walking from the Cantina with a cup of coffee and a ham and cheese on a hard roll... SGM off our battalion sees us thinks humm those guys look a little heavy to be in my battalion. Hey soldiers who is your squad leader? We respond SSG Bartlett. Have him come see me. Sure thing. We tell him and he see the SGM.. Seems the SGM wanted us, including SSG Bartlett to go running after duty hours with him. We me with him and stretch and take off on the run. I was about 5 lbs over Army standard. Bill was probably 20 over. SSG a lean guy chiseled features, you know athletic "looking". Well the route is on lap around the Kasserne. At about the one mile mark Bill and I are wondering where the SGM and SSG Bartlett went because they were no longer behind us. Bill and I finished the run and waited on the steps of the barracks. A long while later we see the SGM and our squad leader walk around the corner. Seems the SGM was done with me and Bill but wanted to see our squad leader a few more times for a run.... lol... Bill was the heaviest guy in the unit and the second fastest.. So aim for being in shape and not so much down to weight...

Priceless!!!

My experience with PMS shooting didn't last too long either. I'm 66 and pretty good shape, ex triathlete before it was fashionable. 1st, was the rate of fire, ain't good for the barrel, ask me how I know.
2nd, get to a stage with a shooting platform suspended by chains? Or climb a rope net and shoot off a colored spot?, or, off a bag full of beach balls?, or? Come on really? Special Olympics stages, I dont get it. I love field matches, I shoot a monthly match down in Raton that's a blast! I love the ELR game too. 3rd, the cost of the PMS matches is generally pretty steep. I do admire the skill set the top shooters have acquired through practice. I shoot some of the local club matches, but that's it. It's just not my wheel house I guess.
