ASS KICKIN

Well, I shot my FIRST PRS match on Sat. 59 years old, FAT, and WAAAAAYYY out of shape on a very hilly course of fire with a bunch of young whipersnappers!! I was done before I started. In fact.....Someone sent me a picture they posted on their web page......me sitting on the ground, defeated, in a crumpled heap with my blanky (soft gun case) .....embarrassing!!

#OLDAGESUCKS!

It's back to BR shooting for fatso!!

PS....anyone need any "like new" PRS STUFF?
PSS...what does this have to do with the 6br website.....well...I was shooting a 6mm....does that count?

LOL I feel your pain brother. Same age as you thought I would get back into highpower shooting last year. Sweating my arse off in that heavy coat I realized my left hip dont work the way it used to. Seated scores were dismal , back to belly benchrest for me.

LOL, aging is for the young.
You got one thing on a lot of folk, you tried! Here's your participation medal. (or not).
You hail from Walhalla - were you trying to get to Ragnarok?

All ribbing aside, sounds like fun. Supposedly it was covid 19, but I have Covid 25 (said as I grab my roll).

Weii, PRS now has a forum on this site. Accurate Shooter is not just for 6BR any longer.
I fell into the USPSA trap years ago and spent almost all my time, effort and $ there for over 20 years. About the time I figured out my reflexes had slowed, my feet had gotten fat and my sore spots got larger PRS came along. Didn't take much for me to see another USPSA "trap" there so I have stayed in the observer category.
BTW, I am 67 YO

Yessir, BR is the F O G game......Fat Old Guy. I'm with you brutha. 74yo here.
I tried to do a sitting rimfire 2 yrs back. I did it offhand. Not 3 position w those tgts but something w a time limit for the 3 positions, auto loaders allowed...whatever it was called. I'm decently active but the 40# above my fighting weight got itself well in the way. Hmm I think I'm up to 50# now. :/

Just built a PRS rifle and suffer the same conditions . I guess I will just pet it once in a while .
I actually didn't build a complete new rifle. I have an old Rem VS from the 90's that I shoot all the time in 6-47L. Just swapped out the old Leupold for one of my backup NF scopes. I have a few BBL:s for it...all EXTREMELY accurate. I simply bought a chassis stock with all the trimmings and bolted it together. One good thing to come of all this nonsence is that I discovered the "Armageddon" rear bag. LOVE it for everything except comp style BR shooting.

well I didn’t participate in a PRS match, but I went on a 8 or 10 mile hike in the local state park last month. 27,000 steps my phone said. I could barely walk at the end of it and took a few days to heal up. 64 here

Based on your BR performances you are not the type of guy to give up.

Did you like the match ,did you crush any stages.

cheers to you for giving it a go.

Trevor

P.S.

I like going to the driving range but i hate golf

Doesn't PRS have a "Senior's" Category?

If we could set up a PRS type shooting, setup more like playing a round of golf....
Shoot from differeft positions, scoring hits.
Then leasurely walk or golf cart to next stage..
I'd be in for that! :D

If i wanted to drag a bummy for a certain distance, and run to the next stage to shoot, i'd have joined Marine Corps Sniper training.

I think I was at the same shoot, lots of hills for sure!

I have a bum knee so moving around isn't as easy at it should be.
