AR-15: New CA Laws, Change in Action Operation, More Accuracy?

I applaud all the brave and resourceful folks who have (and will have) the wherewithal to leave CA. Unfortunately, I've gotten too old to move anymore and my wife of 50 yrs+ doesn't want to put anymore distance between our 5 adult children and 11 grandkids. And for the first time in my life, after having read the sage of "The Alamo" (as a grade school kid in Texas) and seen numerous TV and movie reenactments, I think I now have a realistic flavor of how those brave Texans felt while awaiting the ultimate and inevitable. That's not paranoia speaking, but actually what California has turned into. So don't ever take for granted the benefits you enjoy in other locations around this country. Gun ownership means zero to some. For me it was a long time tool in a Law Enforcement career. Now it's a source of enjoyment and pleasure. I don't believe even the IDIOTCY of state leadership or naïve citizenry, will change my outlook, pursuits of happiness, or possession of the weapons I own. I've never been known for going quietly anywhere. Alpha Hotels will always be there, somewhere.

… Now they live up there and are still contaminating the country by voting for the same crap that they voted for here......

Idiots..................

I truly feel sorry for the good people of Nevada and I understand their dislike for Californians.

Phil.

Similar here w/ WA state fruit loops moving to South Dakota.

Phil3: I live in Minden. Very nice place, but as others have noted, it is filling up with Californians who are gradually changing the political landscape. They are happy to leave the California taxes, but they still think the social aspects of statism are beneficial.

I actually moved here (from Ohio) for the soaring. Having experienced the best soaring in the world for the past 10 years, I wonder sometimes if Idaho or Utah might not be more insulated from Californians and thus a better bet. Too old to move now, though. Too old to do much more flying, too. . .

Well that is discouraging. I would not mind Californians moving in, IF their political values were aligned well with the place they were moving to. Sadly, I find that this is often not the case. I keep checking www.city-data.com and www.bestplaces.net to evaluate growth, change in demographics, voting, etc., for places I am considering, but it seems like most of these places are being infiltrated by liberals, changing the place for the worse. Like I said earlier, they are locusts, leaving a place they have destroyed, to descend on new fertile ground, to destroy it next. How can one escape this, or is that even possible?

Minden has remained pretty conservative though. See this and scroll about half way down for voting in presidential elections.

Not only in cities but on shooting forums as well.

I built a straight pull British AR, in anticipation of Federal law changes. Just something to do in my spare time. Works great, and yes, a very clean bolt carrier. Shot XTC w/o problems, a little faster than a bolt gun in rapids. Slick.

Did you use a side bolt handle?
