Accuracy: Bolt vs Semi Auto

Back to the original question posted. Which is more accurate ? I think anybody would be going out on a limb by saying the AR platform is a more accurate gun in any caliber. Mine are deadly with alot of firepower to follow up the first round. In fact other than carry comfort and weight, I would believe as a sniper, I would carry an AR 10 vs the M24 bolt gun. Simply because of firepower and extreme accuracy on man sized targets. My meaning is also within the 308 range capabilities. Auto feeding the round ( places restrictions on size of case and overall cartridge), force and stress on the round while feeding, holes cut in barrels for gas relief leaving inconsistencies in bullet travel, even tho the bullet has left by the time the action moves, it hasn't left by the time the gas system gets hit by the pressure wave. That sideways pressure causes unpredictable harmonics. Bolt guns can be single fed causing no stress to the cartridge knocking it out of concentricity. Bolt rifle barrels are isolated and harmonics can be completely controlled. While printing tiny groups on paper is where the bolt guns shine, the AR has a niche as well in areas where bolt guns are definitely inferior. Both I will keep at arms reach.

Many Moons ago, Dave Brennan (editor PS Magazine) offered a $500 (iirc) payment to anyone who could bring ANY autoloading rifle to the Super Shoot and agg, five 5-shot groups at 100 yds under .250". Bill Wylde tried a couple times, but as far as I know nobody ever collected. Too many moving/meshing/unmeshing pieces in the action involved.
