AR 15 barrels

^ Great barrels are practically free (compared to wasting ammo, testing, frustration, replacement, etc)
In today's world this statement has never been more true . You can spend a small fortune trying to get a mediocre barrel to shoot to your liking. Put the extra money into a great barrel and be happy. Because either way, it is going to cost you. Personally, I would get the better barrel and eliminate a lot lot frustration down the road. Just my take on it. Good shooting guys.

I concur

Shot my BA 6.5 CM barrel for the first time today.

I succeeded in getting all that copper that was in it when I received it, out of it. Then today I shot a grand total of twelve rounds. After getting on paper at 50 yards where after zeroing it put three rounds in one hole, I moved to 200 and it shot to the same point on the target. 5 shot group was .648 MOA. This with Nosler factory 140 Ballistic Tip ammo. 2561 fps avg. velocity. So I'm pleased with that.

I put some Hoppe's 9 in the bore when I finished shooting. Drove home, had dinner, took the rifle out of the case about three hours after the last shot. I pushed one dry patch through and it came out green. Another dry patch and then looked with the bore scope. Lots of copper again, on top of the lands. Just a very light hint of copper color in spots until about halfway to the muzzle then the deposits get heavy. At least what I would call heavy. Remember this is 12 rounds from a clean barrel.

I'll clean and shoot some more and see what happens.

Hey I'm just commenting on my barrel because Ballistic Advantage was one of the barrels asked about in the original post. It's not my intention to derail the thread getting off in the weeds about copper cleaning. I'm not looking for replies to my issues I'm just adding info on the barrel.

Not that I wouldn't appreciate advice, but maybe PM so as not to derail...?
