Any official ARA release re: new rimfire classes?

I'm hoping for a mix of shooters. I really like all the guys and gals that shoot at my club no matter what they shoot. We have a good time.
#'s of shooters at ARA at the "barn" could be supported.
It's such a nice place to shoot, challenging as heck but very well put together.
Jeff and Renae are doing a great job but more shooters would make it better.

Oh, http://www.rimfireaccuracy.com/Forums/
Is the site for ara info straight from the UL shooters, smiths and md's.

STILLER owns it now. Been around since rfbr ara began lol ...but beware they are a tough crowd at times.

Garand ....I don't see this question there ....? You could have gotten it straight from the horse's mouth there ....hummm.....stirring the pot here huh ....

No. I dont play those reindeer games. I just dont know who all the players are.

Understood. That's a quite bunch. Back when I started ara
I tried to engage but got shut down hard. I went to some of the big tournaments just to confront some of them ! Wound up with some friends !

Here and there no ones too bad

Now on S. H. ... some serious head cases there... starting with the head honcho.

Well well well... This has become a thing. KSS/ARA IS putting together a Factory class.
Rules are being caressed as we speak.

It's up to clubs/MD's to make this happen, shooters have to want to.

There is a long, allot of unnecessary but still informative, thread about it on accurate shooter site.

That's it. MD's can't force shooters to show up. Generally, a passion for benchrest competition comes from a passion for accuracy.... and accuracy isn't really the strong suit for factory rifles.

This ones an uphill battle.

From what I read in the rules for the "factory" class is that it is open for rifles "in production" and $1000 max. The "in production" will leave out a bunch of rifles.

8.4.1 Rifles

8.4.1.1 Any rifle in production that is readily available and produced in quantities greater than 500 with MSRP of LESS than $1000.00 or is included on the ARA approved factory rifle.

Copied from here.

Makes me wonder if the CZ 452 would be considered "in production"

I would think NOT, the 452 is two models removed, from being a current production model. They did keep popping up for sale as new, even after the 455 was introduced, but have not seen any lately. It may make the "approved list" later on.

I'm sure they are trying to keep the rifles newer than the ones that would have worn out a barrel.
The big stink "back when" was guys putting match barrels on that had been stamped to look factory.

i don't agree with the MSRP requirement, fore not many current fodder is really sold at that price.. they are sold at MAP.. sometimes less.

i have not weighed in on any of these threads here and elsewhere because I am not primarily an ARA shooter but this post is worth a thought.....maybe.
Think about the MSRP requirement where it is (it’s got to be someplace).
First, this whole effort, in part, is directed at folks unable to shoot at the cost levels of existing matches.
Second, if it is much higher, even a reasonable amount, it puts you squarely at the levels of decent used custom equipment, which then renders the whole exercise rather moot does it not? Spend past a certain amount, why not get something custom ?
Basically guys are gonna bitch about anything anyway, you do not need to spend much time looking at any forums to read a hell of a lot about “only the few”,” impossible to find ammo”, etc., etc. often by guys that don’t shoot any match anywhere.
