OMG is all I have to say, me lives me dome vintage target rifles!
It started for me at least 15 years ago with a Kimber 82G from the CMP.
6 or 7 years ago I found a Brno Model 4 of 1957ish vintage. I had it at the club for show and tell after pistol league one summer evening where all the old(like me) guys thought it was pretty cool. A younger member all but made fun of it while he was crowing about how much better his 40X was. The proof was on the paper when I out shot him with it during our monthly 22BR match, in the open sight class.
Next, a small country gunshop purchased a collection from the widow of a shooter that included about 2 dozen old 22 target rifles. I swung a package deal on a Remington M37 from 1947 for me, and an Anschutz for my friend. The 37 is simply fine.
Last fall, I had a text from a friend that works at Cabelas. As usual, his text cost me $$ because I brought home a 1955 vintage Martini with a 15X Davis Spot Shot on top of it. A trip to the range showed it to stack bullets and is super easy to shoot. Another guy there couldn't A) believe the accuracy and B) didn't believe a factory barrel could group that well till I showed him the markings and serial number.
Yes, walnut and blued steel, please and thank you.
I assume this is a rimfire, since we're in the rimfire section. ... can you post a picture of that round? I've never even heard of it... and I thought I've heard of most rimfires.30 Herrett Long neck
Aha... its a centerfire. That explains why I had no clue what it was.
