Greentop? Our local store has around 200 rifles on display. All of them are locked. I, personally haven't seen a clerk hand over a rifle that wasn't locked, in years.

No ,we don’t.Unfortunately, we just have to adapt to this brave new world ..
Why? I have some bills I prefer to pay by checkIm actually more surprised that a 1st world country still uses cheques
I use them for almost everything I cant pay cash for. I try to buy all I can locally with cash. I'm not paying card fees anymore than I have to. That's just my way.Im actually more surprised that a 1st world country still uses cheques
Sure. I do not carry a balance and addition get 5% back on most purchases so the credit card actually is cost free.I use them for almost everything I cant pay cash for. I try to buy all I can locally with cash. I'm not paying card fees anymore than I have to. That's just my way.
I like to pay for items however i choose.Im actually more surprised that a 1st world country still uses cheques
As do I, run the farm off a credit card, pick my mail up on the 1st and 15th, pay all the monthly bills by check and the balance on the card the same way, nothing else involved, just pen and paper.... That's great. But I'm an old fellow and I don't like the idea that everything I do is tracked as in where I go and what I do. Cards make that easy as well as phones.Sure. I do not carry a balance and addition get 5% back on most purchases so the credit card actually is cost free.
Try stopping them?Caution with auto withdrawal as if you have to they can be a nightmare to stop. (Cable, electric etc)
In our state, (and I assume most others) they don't ring up a gun purchase until after your forms have been filled out and call made for background check. If you want to return or trade the gun at that point - well it aint easy. jd@bluealtered, I realize this would be annoying but how about buying the rifle. After he hands it to you remove the lock, try the trigger and if you don’t like it return it (assuming they take returns).
My father was a doctor and I couldn't read his writing (and I can read cursive), but his nurse had no problem. I swore she had supper powers......Come on guys. Liberal/woke thinking, lawyers, and technology is turning out a world population of people who don't know much and can't do much. I can't believe some things I hear and see can be taken rationally, yet they are.
Example 1: Last night I ate supper with a friend. His wife handles manifests and work orders for an environmental waste company that does $7 million a month. She said they have young people working there that don't know how to write a check - they bring them to her.
Example 2: Another lady who works in a nursing home said they have some nursing graduates that can't read cursive writing the doctors use. They bring the documents to her.
So, to the original poster. You were very fortunate to have a clerk who understood locks and knows what a trigger is.
I guess I made a mistake mentioning doctor. The main gist of what I said is that the girls couldn't read cursive, doctor or not, yours or mine, at all. For instance, I was taught to write a check amount and sign it with cursive. This is impossible for a lot of kids today. My father was a doctor and I couldn't read his writing (and I can read cursive), but his nurse had no problem. I swore she had supper powers......
No worries, brought back fun memories and the running banter we had.I guess I made a mistake mentioning doctor.
