THIS WAL MART BS MIGHT BE A GOOD THING....

Regarding the death penalty, I’ve always favored it. That being said, it may not have any impact on the perps that are commiting police-assisted suicide, which is what a lot of these a-holes seem to be doing. I don’t have a solution.

Wallmart or any other private business can sell or not sell anything they want. Which in my opinion is the way it should be. But if you think Walmart or Dick’s for that matter made their decision “to keep society safer” you are terribly naive. There is only one reason the board of directors at all large retailers do anything and that’s to make more money - that is their job. For some reason Walmart has decided they can be more profitable from pandering to the anti-gun crowd, pure and simple. There was no moral or ethical component to the decision, that is just cover for them.

Consumers speak with their checkbooks and credit cards. Hopefully Walmart will get the message. What I find amazing is that they think this will endear them to the liberal elite, who don’t and will never shop there.

Thats one possibility. I think their lawyers got involved, stuck their collective wet fingers in the air and sensed that maybe with the political climate, it may be time to reduce their exposure to possible lawsuits, frivolous or not. Even if they win them all its bad exposure. With whats going on with governors like Cuomo and Newsom who knows what kookie legislation they will try. Just another perspective.

We need to remember that there are thousands of people who are simply swept along in this "common sense gun control" movement. They are like a flock of sheep, and know very little, or nothing at all about guns, the constitution, the founding of our nation -- they have no actual opinion of their own; only what they are fed by the media.

These people are ripe for the picking, and need to have their "Inner Free American" woke up. They need to realize that if they work to feed themselves and their family, and live free in the best country in the world, they need to take responsibility and help defend themselves and their loved ones, and their country. Stop being punks, and expecting the gummint to wipe their butts and save their bacon.

The founders enlisted us all into the militia that ultimately keeps this country free and independent, and as long as that militia exists, so will our freedom. jd

Allot of people know very little about guns, basically only that guns kill and it is really what they believe, I grew up in call it rural farming community and there it was second nature to use a gun. Every body owned them and if there was time of we would shoot them, after studying and moving to the big city I was shocked to see how little "these" people actually knew about fire arms, obviously the circles I move in own and use FAs allot but its a very small percentage of people in the bigger scheme.

A friend of a friends girlfriend is anti hunting anti gun just because she was raised in a house where she believed guns kill people and killing animals is crazy. I always made sure to stay well away from her but ended having a long conversation with her one evening and I was quite shocked afterwards. I truly believe allot of people are under the impression that owning a gun will make you a killer and im talking about educated people here
