Another Doppler radar unit on the market, Bulletseeker

Labradar just released a new software patch ( Firmware 1.3.3 )
They say fixes some of the Bluetooth issues.....so they say.
I just download it, haven't had a chance to try er out yet.

there was a little write up here about it awhile back--mite do a search
I saw that thread back in July, but it just dead ends. @furrybean sounded like he had one in hand but didn't have much to say about it. It sounds like Bart has one now too.

I saw a short YT video by Mark&Sam After Work from Australia, and was hoping for a little more input since the unit has been out for a little while now.

None of the new units are inexpensive, but they have a smaller form factor. Both the new ones are small enough to mount on the rifle or on a stand nearby.

I was on LR early since I was already familiar with that company and have used their larger industrial versions long before. I was aware of the bugs in the BlueTooth, but knew the unit would otherwise work well, so I didn't consider it a risk.

This one is shown at 900 Euros, and I don't know anybody near me that has one thus I'm fanning up the coals to see if I can start the topic on fire again to decide if I order one or wait.

OK thanks for that info—. I got my LR when they were taking preorders and i dont know how long thats been but been having a little trouble with it lately — dont think i will spring for the 900 euro unit rite now but mabie in the future so I to would like to know more about these new units to.

One other thing: the Bulletseeker is a $900 unit that only provides muzzle velocity. The Labradar can detect 4 extra velocities out to 100y (if conditions are just right) and can be operated without a phone or tablet. But the Bulletseeker is very compact. Decisions, decisions.

For rimfire and airgun, yes. Not for anyone else as far as I know.

Edit: I placed an order for a Bulletseeker. Hopefully the iOS software will be approved around when it gets to me.

I really like mine.
Much more compact
Not as sensitive to direction on set up
Very accurate
Works in a tunnel range
Negative - you need to have a device connected to it for it to work

Do you have some news?
I liked the labradar or the Andiscan better. The bulletseeker was a little harder to setup to pick up bullets. Its readings were usually 30 to 40 foot slower From the labradar or magneto speed. Basically it gives you a velocity reading well in front of the barrel instead of at the muzzle. It could also be difficult getting it to connect to your phone.

I took it to a 600 yard match where there were several labradars on the line and I couldn’t get it to function. When it did catch a shot it gave me crazy numbers for velocity.
