Another credit card tale of woe !!

First off.....Kudos, and a warm thank you to Karen at Hart Barrels !!!

I ordered a heavy blank From Hart back in early August. With an 8 to 10
week turn around, I could get things done early enough to hit the winter
shoots at Anderson Creek. Ain't happening ?? Time rolled on, and nada.
I'm not one to pester but I just hit 18 weeks without a peep from anyone.
I rechecked my CC statement and made a call direct to Master card that the
funds were drawn and verified. With the verification done, I contacted Hart
to check on delivery. They had no clue about my order ?? Another email
about particulars, and Karen called me first thing this morning to sort things
out. Turns out that during the time period I ordered my barrel on their site,
Hart gave the CC company the boot for anti gun reasons and put another in
place. Even though I have proof my card was processed it was not by their
current company. Karen acknowledged the problem and Hart themselves
will deal with it. Karen gave me a run down on my order to check all the
right boxes, and promised to kick it in gear. She mentioned if a blank was
in stock. it would be pulled and lapped. If not, it will be out the door on the
next batch run......Again !! Thank you, Karen. :)

The moral of this story is about the anti's disrupting legit business and the
effect it has spread. My last comment to Karen was....." Pardon my French"
"Sue the Bastards !!"

The moral of this story is credit card processing is a pain and switching vendors sucks. It's more about companies struggling with technology. Don't let your bias bleed into the facts.

Good on Hart Barrels for fixing you up fast. Things go wrong, it's all about how you handle it.

Use privacy.com for purchases online. Shooting web-retailers have notoriously bad IT practices, it will protect your financial and CC info and it can mask your personal info. Just a tip...

First ??? that comes to mind is "How many businesses will it take telling the Credit Card Companies to "BITE ME" will it take for them to get the message, "IT'S MY MONEY AND I'LL SPEND IT ANY WAY I WANT!! If you don't like folks spending THEIR $$$ on things THEY WANT, won't be too long and you won't have any customers.
Couple of BIG BANKS started pulling that crap and lost a BUNCH of customers. Just guessing, not enough? :(
Folks are getting REAL TIRED of rolling over due to pressure from the big boys. Bout time to get the power back. ;)

tortious interference

Tortious interference is a common law tort allowing a claim for damages against a defendant who wrongfully interferes with the plaintiff's contractual or business relationships.

This may more between the Barrel Maker and the Payment company, but keep it in mind

Which “folks” are you talking about? The few million who are serious about guns, or the hundreds of millions who just want their iPhones and GrubHub? Not enough “folks” on our side to make a difference directly unfortunately. All we can do us elect “folks” who think like we do and pray.

Wyoming passed this statute.
This act prohibits financial institutions from discriminating against firearms businesses because the business supports or is engaged in the lawful commerce of firearms, firearm accessories or ammunition products.

I had my CC ripped off recently for the 5th time in 6 years. Someone tried to charge $450 worth of coffee at killer coffee in Washington state. The CC company denied the purchase. I had them cancel the card and reissue. Problem is they approved a $250 charge for the same product at the same company a few days before and never caught that when they contacted me about the larger one. On the barrel thing, with lead times in the weeks or months, I am going to send a check. Screw credit cards in all but the direst circumstances.

Iirc you can’t use privacy with a credit card only a debit.

for that reason I’ve never done it. Refuse to pay for anything with cash anymore aside from 2 well known smiths on here. My CC saved me multiple times in this industry

Your not getting the point. No credit card was ripped off. It has to
do with a processing company antics, and Hart telling them to Piss
off. I just got caught up in the middle during the change over and
was lost in the shuffle.....Murphy's Law was applied in this situation.

Who are you yelling at? You needed a little less coffee today Mikie...

This is a case of changing CC processors on an e-commerce website. You wanna yell at someone, yell at their webmaster.
Just making a point! How long before we've had enough? Kinda like politicians.
Don't want to rock the boat so the same slime balls stay in office FOR EVER!
And if you don't do anything about it, you're not in a position to say anything.
Just take your lumps and move on.
