annealing machines

Another very happy Amp Mk2 owner. One of the best pieces of reloading gear I’ve ever purchased!

EP Integrations. I used to "think" I was annealing 7mm TCU brass by aiming a torch at the case mouth. When it turned cherry red, I tipped it into a water bath. GACK!!! The errors of youth! I have a hard time talking myself into the AMP, so the EP Integrations device is perfect for my needs.

I was using an AMP MK2 at our club, but due to lack of use, only three of us using it, it was sold to one of the members. (I just could not believe in a club of over 600 members, that’s all that were interested.) I just did not have the cash to buy it in my own at the time. It was fantastic while it lasted, loved the machine. With the AMP gone, I went to a very basic model of an AGS annealer and like it very much. It does what it’s supposed to, no bells and whistles, it just anneals. I do it after every firing.

How do you like the Burstfire ?
I am looking at that one now from Amazon
No issues with mine this far. I really like the metal roller wheels… no plastic to accidentally melt! The case prep motors are a plus but I need to figure out a way to deal with all the brass shavings

Thank you. I already have a Lyman case prep express that I use and really like it. THe brass shaving stay right on top with a ridge around it to hold the shavings in place till I vacuum them off. I probably won't use the case prep on the annealer.

Ok how many of you have built you own annealer like this or another type, flame or induction? Are happy with the results? If you Had it to do over again would you still do it are go a different route

I have free access to an AMP but it's 20mins drive away. My gunsmith just up the road has an Ugly Annealer and I don't believe they can be bettered for value. He even refills his propane bottles which I pay for and it's nothing compared to the outlay for an AMP.
