Don't forget the 350 mag in the 700 BDL in the late 60's (along with the 6.5) and the 673 (22" bbl) and the 700 classic (24"bbl?). Like a short action 35 Whelen
That's the good thing about the centerfires I mentioned. At least you can reload them if not make brass for them. With the 5mm, which is a lazer in it's own right, once you're done, you're done for a long time if not forever.I picked up a Rem 591 (5 mm RFM) late last year. It's been a hoot to shoot. Luckily Grafs received a shipment of ammo not long after.
I bought a full case OUCH, but I'm good for quite awhile now. That's the good thing about the centerfires I mentioned. At least you can reload them if not make brass for them. With the 5mm, which is a lazer in it's own right, once you're done, you're done for a long time if not forever.
I shot a friends 600 in 308 Win with 180 grain factory ammo. One shot with that flyweight was enuf for me!Ping pong paddles and handcuffs
It’s been a while.
When I first got out of the Army back in the ‘60’s, some friends wanted to go deer hunting. I didn ‘t even own a rifle.
I went over to Richard’s Pawn Shop where he had a model 600 in 350 REM Mag. He even had two boxes of the Green Box ammo, 250 grn I think. It had a cheap scope on it.
Well, we went over to the old Lake Houston Gun Club to shoot it. During deer season, they were open till 9:00 PM.
That was the most atrocious thing I ever shot. The ball of fire out the barrel darn near blinded us, and it almost knocked me off of the stool.
I did not shoot a deer on our trip, and the first thing I did when I got back was sell it.
but you are right. That is a hard hitting short action cartridge.
Same but feed it with 50gr BT.For my pest gun around the house I use a .223 mod. 7 rem. Shot a coyote., coons , cats with 69 gr. sierras. Not supposed to be a game bullet but Ive had good luck with it. Thats what my 550 dillon is set up with. Doug
