Alpha 6BRA brass

My last day for a few weeks was about as miserable as I'll tolerate for shooting! 3 above, 10 mph northeast wind, and enough snow coming down I had to strain to see I was centering up on my poa.



I feel I'm getting somewhere, with the caveat being in this one barrel with this one primer, and in very cold weather. Repeatedly Alpha 1 shoots ladders that suit my eye. Alpha 4 has shot nice ladders as well, and groups well for the conditions so far. My alpha 2s continue to look "workable", and alpha 3s have been homely multiple times now. I will be heading south for a visit with my aunt, and hopefully will see some warmer mornings when I get back home.


Also, I wanted to say thank you to @Roy H for providing some bullets for this "project". Without knowing the chances of this resulting in a "game changer" or not, he stepped up in case it is! There's a lot of components going to be expended just on the outside chance it results in an advancement of our sport. And even though your 6.5 has no chance, you're a good man that's in it for the right reasons!

thanks Roy you old dog... takes a village to keep Tom between the guard rails. Tom I suspect your windows will hold at 50 degrees even with a possible uptick..

Roy Tom is most comfortable on the "off"side of any length of guard rail that's for sure.

I picked up 300 pieces of Alpha 6 Dasher brass. Looks like very nice stuff. Still trying to decide if I want to keep it a 6 Dasher or neck it all down and do a 20 Dasher.

A 20 dasher would be wicked!

Yeah that’s what I was thinking but I only have 10” twist 20 cal barrels on hand. I think a 20 Dasher is suited best for the heavy 55gr Bergers so a 9” or 8” twist barrel would be needed. Plus I have a 20 PPC that I haven’t shot yet. It should be a good performer as well. Also have a 6mm PPC LBC T40 (aka: “PPC Dasher”) I need to shoot some more. A 6 Dasher with 10” twist barrel and varmint weight bullets would be really wicked too

fair enough! It would definitely need the 55’s and a 1:8 twist barrel!

Not sure why you would want the code without the AMP annealer itself - My aztec code on Alpha BRA brass (un-turned) is 141.

I have the AMP, so far haven't seen anything on their site for standard annealer settings for AMP brass and I don't have the AZTEC unlocked. Haven't looked to see if the Aztec codes work across annealers or not, might be worth testing it on one piece. Thanks.

Hope I didn’t make a mistake selling an older 4895 8 pounder to a friend in dire need. I have two 8 pounders of lot 7227

Not sure If you made a mistake, but I just started into a keg of 7227 and it shoots ok. Maybe not 5xxx series good though because my rifles don’t shot like Glenn’s.
