Almost finish. 6xc

After 4 1/2 months, my 6xc build is almost done. All I need to add is the can. I installed the break for now just to get the feel of the gun and get a good idea what it can do. I loaded up 20 rounds of SMK 107, 38.3 grains of H4350, peterson brass, and LR magnum primers. I ordered some Barnes 112 match bullets from Midway and they should be here next week. The Barnes should be a better fit because SMKs are being held on by the neck barely with a .020 jump.

Today I'm going to take it's first shots and its going to be sweet. With gun, loaded mag, installed bipod, and scoped, she weighs in at 16 lb 10 oz.

Looking good bro.

You should post your build in the UrbanRifleman Builds" thread in the commercial classifieds so everyone can see.

The 115 DTAC's are the same cost as the Barnes 112 MB's and again designed for that exact cartridge!
Where can you buy the Dtac at the same price as Barnes 112? I think I pay 175 for 500 bullets on Midway. After taxes and shipping, the total came out just over 200. Tubb is selling the Dtac for 180 for 500 rounds and I'm sure tax and Shipping will bring it well over 200.

Unless you and Larry have a special relationship looks like the 115 DTAC's would cost $7.01 more per box of 500....which is $0.01402 per bullet not factoring in the tax + shipping. Please excuse me for rounding the $7.01 and trying to get you to shoot the correct bullet for that cartridge. I will stop trying to help :)

As soon as I get this rifle broken in, I going to try every heavy bullet. The only limiting factor I have is getting primers. The only primers I have right now are large rifle magnum primers and they seem to be not as accurate in my other calibers I use to have.

My 6XC Urbanrifleman loves 112gr barnes

Thank you for your support.

My Barnes 112 are 34.95 per box. That is $174.75 per 500. My shipping is $10 NO MATTER HOW MANY YOU BUY. That's cheaper than Midway and cheaper shipping. You can buy 10k and shipping is 10 bucks.

I shoot the Barnes 112 in my 6XC and my 6bra and I was the one that recommended it... and I sell it. For the same price as Midway. Still goes to Midway... yer killin me Smalls. hahaha

Congrats on your 6XC.
I have never shot any 112’s. My 6XC II was set up with a 1-7 twist for the 115 Burger. It did not disappoint. I let it go and probably should not have. I’m sure I should not have.
I still run my 1-8 twist with a slightly tight chamber and a 105 freebore for the 105 HVLD. I have a box of DTAC’s. They are good. To me it’s really hard to beat the 105 Burger. Let us know how it shoots for you.

Buy your 112 match burners from blue collar reloading they used to be 130 bucks for 500 and now they are 150. Still the best place I've found. Remember this bullet likes 15-20 thousands jump usually. HBN coated 112 mine started getting good at 38.5 of H4350 even better higher after 200 rounds on new barrel. R17 is more accurate in the 3 different XC I loaded for just be careful with high temperature. I've been playing with other cartridges all summer and I'm junking all of them and going back this combination

I finally took out the 6xc to the shooting range yesterday and I'm beyond impressed. Using 107 SMK and 38.3 +/- .2 grains of h4350. Was not trying to be really precise in the charge weights, and was mostly fire forming my cases. Target was set up 200 yards and the wind was averaging 5 mph with gust to about 8 mph
