I don't intend this to be a CRB bashing thread, just a heads up that we have not found them to be capable of BR work. PRS and F class maybe.
Not bashing at all, but maybe they need to go back to the mfg.I don't intend this to be a CRB bashing thread, just a heads up that we have not found them to be capable of BR work. PRS and F class maybe.
Excuses that made no sense at all. It was very evident he was grabbing at straws bouncing around trying to find something that would stick in HIS MIND and finally settled on the poor excuse of we used Thorro-Clean in the barrels. Again, not to bash anybody or any company but the truth is welcome all over the Earth and in Heaven.Tried that. Got a lot of excuses.
That’s not goodTried that. Got a lot of excuses.
I'll look forward to hearing how your 6X47 develops. I love mine and I hope yours shoots great. My 6 X 47 is almost ready and I plan to continue this thread with all the loads & data that I work with. At some point in the future we may re-visit the 25 X 47 with a different barrel brand, twist, length, etc. Let me be very clear. There is no reflection or dis-satisfaction with O D C R period. Zack did the same great work on these rifles as he has always done and continues to do..
Yes Sir, plan to continue the posting of load data and results here with all my rifles going forward.I'll look forward to hearing how your 6X47 develops. I love mine and I hope yours shoots great.

Appreciate your experiences. From time to time yes there are occasions where a barrel will act finicky but these barrels have not shown any regards to shooting accurately out past 100 yds. while drilling back to back 5-shot gps. 1/4 MOA and less at times. When getting them out to 300 yds. the groups open up to @ 1 1/2 inches with any and all components we tried which are plenty. We don't understand why but that's what we have seen with both barrels. If I felt that it was something on our part I'd be the first to admit it but knowing what we both are capable of with load work-up, tuning, and bench manners I simply cannot find a fault.Like other cartridges the 25x47 needs prep in a manner that suits the 25 x 47… in most situations that involve “long for caliber projectiles “ in regard to grouping they can be finicky or cranky day to day if there is a lack of air across a range meaning Random popped shots or vertical string regardless of tune… there are ways to manipulate the results like other cartridges as to make them competitive…. But in regard to barrel manufacturers I had three different manufacturers on three different platforms to help me learn quicker and all are competitive and one was a CRB 1.250 strait on my Borden and likely the one target small will come from that barrel regardless of how well Trystan shot my Bat with a different manufacturer barrel for agging . In testing my CRB actually out laddered the other two manufacturers but they all when fully worked up are competitive… barrels do get blamed for the sub par results more often then they should but it’s my opinion that more often then not, that it’s not barrel powder or bullets as there all decent but just don’t want to play well together simply put. Don’t get me wrong sometimes there are runs or lot of components that just simply won’t fail know matter how hard we try but nothing “works” every time if you shoot lots of gear along the way.. I will be ordering more CRB’s for my 25x47’s and 6mm’s as they handle solid out of my camp among others… glad your having success out of your Lilja blank though as they are a top choice as well… 25x47 Lapua in short order may be the ultimate for ten shot at 1000 yard group shooting even with a lack a choices to choose from… stay tuned Lol

I’m not discounting your findings as it happens along the way … my point simply was the inverse .. good luck and shoot smallAppreciate your experiences. Bullet and twist for the IBS Nats results, if you don't mind saying? The 25x47 works plenty well for BR. I have numerous guys winning with it. Shawn Williams son shot 3 3" 10 shot groups in a row at the 1k IBS Nats with his which has NEVER been done with any cartridge. His are also shooting great. Thats 2 years in a row it won HG at the IBS Nats. It also shot the smallest 2 gun group agg at the world open. Could be many reasons why you may be struggling. Try different lots of bullets? Different reamer? They are quite picky about neck tension. More so than most. So if you didn't explore that, its worth a shot. But I also understand sticking with what has worked for you before as well.
