ADG 300 wsm brass testing

It’s been very good brass...Brass is holding up very well.
No surprise there. ADG is consistently excellent across the board with all their offerings. They are no doubt trying to knock Lapua of their high horse. ADG has already taken the crown as king of the brass world if you ask me.

The one area where ADG stands apart from Lapua is on the flash hole. Take a light and look inside Lapua cases thru the neck at the top of the flash holes, they are not always very pretty. Then look inside ADG brass flash holes the same way. Big difference. Not sure how they do it, but ADG flash holes are as perfectly formed on the inside as they are on the outside in the primer pocket. No burrs or anything. Perfectly smooth and shaped as if the flash hole was cast in a mold.

ADG will not run any standard case head cases for 2021, this means no Creedmoors, 308, etc. There won’t be any 28 Nosler available until MAY2022

ADG’s production schedule UPDATED 05OCT2021:

This is the schedule to finish off 2021 one cartridge after another with no specific start dates provided:

CURRENT- 375 RUM and 338 Lapua Mag

Then in order: 7 Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag, 6.5 PRC, 300 PRC, 7 SAUM, 6.5 SAUM, 300 WSM

I recently bought some ADG 6.5SAUM brass so maybe some 300WSM will hit the shelves before or around the first of the year.

They emailed this week that the belted cases were shipping this week, so looks like PRC and saum are next….which I would guess keeps the march time frame intact

Following this thread
I'm having a reamer made for a 7-300 wsm wildcat variant and plan on using ADG brass
Has someone else already built that round on ADG brass and given you exact loaded round dimensions? If not, then being that the brass is actually in production, you should probably wait to have 300 WSM ADG brass on hand then neck it down to 7mm and seat a bullet in it before you have a reamer made.

This is solid advice. Frustrating to wait... But HIGHLY encouraged.

I'm curious if the clicker problem will arise like with the PRC's and saami reamer dimensions.
I'm really wanting some 300wsm ADG brass for my 6.5x300wsm

Looking forward to getting my hands on the 7SAUM ,,…

The accuracy potential of ADG brass is not in question. Check out the 300 saum imp thread, all of that is ADG brass. I actually prefer ADG over Lapua at this point. I think we will see this brass getting the WSM up to the next node that we could not reach with Norma brass. At least without hurting it. Something to note, your old die that worked with Norma may not cut it. This brass is tougher, thats why we like it, so sizing die requirements will be different than soft brass. Its great to see this brass finally!
I would buy adg any day of the week over Lapua. I've bought some good Lapua brass but I've had some that was less than what they are known for.

I have 6.5 SAUM brass from ADG and it is dimensionally excellent just like their 300 Norma and 300 PRC brass.

Lapua is tough proven brass but I have had decent variances between lots in the past and slight manufacturing defects like bad burrs on the top side of flash holes. Still light years better than cheap brass tho.

I also have 6 Dasher cases from Alpha Munitions and it is very excellent brass as well. Alpha is an American company like ADG and since both make top of the line brass, if they make the cases I am looking for, I will definitely buy them before looking to Lapua.

Lapua used to be the only manufacturer of good brass available and pretty much had a monopoly on that part of the market. Now with ADG and Alpha proving they can match the quality and in some cases make it even better, the game has changed. Of course there is the American company Peterson brass as well but the first batch of brass I got from them had all kinds of QC and manufactured defect issues which put a bad taste in my mouth. Primer pockets so tight I couldn’t seat primers, cases developing cracks in the body and splitting open, dimensionally incorrect specs, etc. Not to say Peterson makes bad brass all the time, but I haven’t had a single issue with any ADG brass yet. Nothing but top notch quality in every single piece from ADG.

I spoke with a few people from Hornaday and Manson Reamers.
The consensus is that the clicker issue comes from reamers that are too tight near the case head area.
I was advised to spec my reamer to the saami max case head dimension which is .0015 fatter than the standard
