A question and a little crowing

First, the question...is the RCBS Summit a good press?

Then the crow, I ran into a guy that buys storage units and he just paid $50 for one that had a ton of tools and gun stuff. He had a summit press with 2 sets of dies, brand new and never used for $150. I bought it even being unfamiliar with the press because...$150??!!

I also got 2 new very nice cleaning rods, a new Foredom rotary tool (like a high power dremel) and a box of endmills, taps and drill bits....probably 200 in total and most of them are new. He then threw in for free, two boxes of miscellaneous gun stuff that he didn't want to be bothered to sort through. In those boxes were a barrel vise, two sets of 80% ar jigs...the nice almunium one with bronze bushings, an 80% lower and a ton of assorted bits and pieces...bore brushes, jags, and a bunch of other stuff I haven't sorted through yet.

For all that, I paid a total of $240. I think I won for once.

Take that mask off now.

That's what I was hoping to hear.

The real thief though, is the guy selling the stuff. He paid $50 for the whole unit and, while I was working my deal, he made $800 from another guy that showed up to buy some things and he still had a ton of stuff left to sell. There are a couple more things I am contemplating on still.

That being said, I still am wondering if the summit is a capable press. Is it better than the co-ax I already have?

I am happy for the score though, I'm usually a buy high, sell low kind of shopper.

I have two. One is the Patriot model.
Excellent presses. One I use the optional short handle for seating bullets.
Because of its design it does not need to be mounted on the benches end.
They are what I use for nearly all my reloading.
Always remembering the press ( any) have nothing to do with the finished product.
Just very well made and solid as a rock.
Enjoy it.

Why is he a thief? He took the gamble of buying a unit, then gave what sounds like good deals, to buyers.
Maybe you're the their, because you knew the value of the stuff before agreeing to buy it.

Simmah down, it was a joke...just like the guy above that said "take the mask off now".

The seller knew the value as well...he does this for a living.

He had the press and dies listed at 50% off the going price for new and it wasn't selling. He lowered the price and I jumped on it.

The box of mills and drills would have been a pain to sell individually so he boxed them up and threw a price on them.

The 2 boxes of miscellaneous stuff, neither he, nor I went through them....he said, "just take them, I don't want to deal with sorting through them". I looked in, saw it was gun related and grabbed them.

My only negotiating came when he added everything up and it came to $250 and I offered $240 because that was what I brought with me.
