a little cure from boredum

So what's mulberry burn like? Hot? Lot of ash? Smell sweet? Can you smoke pork with it? We have very little hardwood here in SW Idaho, ... best I've used for the woodstove is Locust. Once you get used to the smell, its quite pleasant. (I use crabapple for smokin' meat.)

Very tight grain and burns relatively hot, similar to apple but not as much as osage orange or locust. Try sassafras for smoking.

This will have to go on for a long time before I am caught up and bored. That said, it sure would feel good to be caught up.

"Motorcycle riding looking for groundhog fields "

Buddy and I used to hunt groundhogs while riding our motorcycles in the 70's and early 80's. No, we didn't hunt from the bikes!

Used a XP100 in .221 Fireball, Contender in .222, and sometimes a Ruger Hawkeye in .256 Winchester. (can't bring myself to include magnum in the name.

Social distancing with a new 6mm creedmore at 500 yards would be hazardous to the groundhogs I would think.

Spring cleaning of the yard, reorganizing the reloading room. cleaning out some old book cases. I have an old computer desk i was using for reloading. i will be replacing with a new 25 x 72 work bench.

Reorganizing the loading room. Lowering my loading bench. For 30 years I have been standing at the bench. And I prefer it.
But my body don't like it much anymore.
Rather than lowering the bench, get a pneumatic
chair at an office supply that goes to standing height.
Then you can stand a while/sit awhile. I've got one
and it works well on a 36" bench. LDS

Sassafras! Back when I was a kid, and about this time of year, my parents were out digging up the roots from small Sassafras trees to make "Sassafras Tea". With sugar added, it was hard to beat...and, oh, that pleasant smell:):). On another subject, right now, I'm keeping an eye out for newly emerging "polk". You might know it as Polkweed. Another early life vittle that was quite good with onion and corn bread. Can hardly wait to get some.

"Cure"?

Well I certainly hope so. Just dosen't get much more hillbilly than this. Presto griddle is indispensable round here. This is another cheapy, throw away factory tupperware stocks. I use EA40 Smooth-On epoxy, used to buy it by gallon units for bow building. It also does the business on bedding gun stocks. I stuck this rig in our old Buick yesterday as an oven, temps inside the car running a pleasant 100* or so with the sun late afternoon. Attics are another warm spot. Then it goes on the griddle set to "warm" overnight.

Spray bomb it with that "fusion" crap they sell at sLowes. We have full on spray capabilities but..... ehhh, only gonna drag this poor thing around in the field anyway. It's my 22-250 ghetto truck gun. Shoots 55g cast bullets into tiny, bragging size holes..... all day long baby!

Going with OD green. Should look right spiffy down at the country club?

I finished the puzzle I bought my wife for Christmas, she didn't want it for some reason, while I think it's beautiful!;)

Working virtually from home. Doing a few projects on the boat which includes replacing the fly bridge dash panels. Used a headlight lens restorer on the gauges. Gauges came out OK but not what they advertise and of course I was expecting them to look like new. Still they look a lot better than they did and will look good on the new panels. A lot better than having to replace all the gauges and the senders.
Hard to get any supplies unless you order them online, so most projects on hold. This is the first week we haven't had rain.
