I do slice it in half, easier to manage in vacuum sealed bags while brining

Got some Cornish hens thawing out to grill up A La Mancha on Sunday. Need to get more Spanish paprika and probably buy some sage as mine in the garden are a bit sparse this time of year. Also just about time to start new hot pepper plants from seed! Going to do more habanero this year. Really like the variety I got, very fruity, slightly citrus flavor.

My kitchen is being renovated for the last two weeks. Taking WAAAY too long.

I'm not proud to say I had tots and Chicken cordon bleu.........out of a box. Oven is the onlyest thing hooked up. No pics......

If all I had was an oven, I'd be making Croque Monsieur, Croque Madame, tuna melts, oven BBQ chicken salads. A good sandwich doused in bechemel is hard to beat! If you dont own an air fryer, you should. Its just a counter top sized convection oven. I know you are in temporary displacement, but more than a day or two is far too long to eat boxed, processed frozen food! Even just a cabbage wedge done low and slow with butter, cream and seasoning is amazing. Broiled root veggies, pork chops, chicken thighs. Its time to use those kitchen skills and get creative!

lol. I didn't say I hadn't cooked over fire or smoked anything, only that at that moment on that day it was definitely not "Maximum Effort).

I do feel duly chastised though. When I get home from range I'm pulling out of the deep freeze some halibut and a rib roast. Thank you Chris and Riot for the kick in the ass!

There is nuthin better than makin yr own bacon! Does that have the hide on it? What wood u use?

no hide, I get it at Sam's it's all cleaned up, Weber Searwood pellet smoker 180F "smoke boost" mode
