788 needs Sako extractor

Remington 788 in 243 Winchester blew out existing extractor. In need of some to install a Sako extractor. Anyone?

I had the same issue as you with a 788. I had a Sako extractor installed and it was a great fix. Unfortunately the smith that did the work has passed away. But a while back I was looking for someone to install one and found out pretty quick that there are a lot of Smith's that can do the work. Probably have to ship the bolt but turn around time shouldn't be to long.

Unless you can find an extractor for the 788, the sako extractor is a good fix.

Yes I did. He doesn't want to do it. I have asked three other well respected smiths, no one so far wants anything to do with it. I might have to do it myself, makes me nervous.
