In my 7 prc with a 26” barrel, 68.7 grains H1000 with 180 vlds shoots 1/4” at 2960. Fed 210 or cci 250 shoot the same from testing.

You're never going to get 3000fps with a 175-180g bullet from a 7 PRC with anything less than a 28-30" tube.

I haven't seen 1 rifle out of about 20, with 24-26" tubes get 3000fps...

Just chalk it up to another huge marketing scam by Hornady lol. Nothing magical about a 7 PRC.

Probably not magical....but it is a good replacement for the 7Rem mag. Just because the unneeded belt disappeared.

As someone that is looking at a 7mm factory rifle the 7PRC looks a good option. I'm waiting to see if Lapua make brass for it. If you are talking custom rifles then there are lots of options. For the average range shooter wanting a cost effective but accurate rifle the recent Hornady offering are pretty good.

I just don't get overly excited about it. I have a 7 Rem Mag and 7-300 Win Mag that do everything it does, and more, belt or not doesnt matter to me any.
Good for you! You have a good loading process. After 3 firings I can't get the case sized down enough to close the bolt smoothly. Belt is a problem with the two sons guns.

I've heard of some guys having that issue, but I've honestly never ran into it. I've got 9 firings on my 7-300 brass and no issues. Pockets are still tight and they feed like butter. It also shoots 1/4-1/3 MOA. 180g ELDMs at 3100. She's a hammer. Probably why I don't get to excited about many new 7mms. I've had most of them over the years, and the 7-300 is probably been my favorite by far.

Guys complain about belted case sizing problems ive never had it, in my opinion its a die issue or really hot load and die won't size the brass back enough.
