Why not just the 6.5 PRC AI to 7mm to keep the longer neck ?

This was with Blake Barrel, N555, 57.5 grains, Berger 184 Hybrid Target bullets, Fed 215 Primers with brass straight out of the AUTODOD.

This was "shooting blind" at 500 yards as my e target was not useable this morning. About 1-1.5 minutes of wind I guessed from L to R. 1.6" Vertical, 2.3" Horizontal.

I see in the OP an 8.5 twist was used. Can anyone confirm wether a 9 twist barrel has been tested and works well with the 7FCP or 7-6.5PRCW using 180/184 hybrids or is 8.5 the only way to go?

I’m shooting a 9” Hart which measures 8.75”. So far it shoots 184’s well but I don’t have a lot of time on it yet.

I shoot a 9tw and my 7PRCW and my 7 Shehane both shoot the 180s and 184s just fine.
Good enough to win Matche's with. Im sure a 8.5tw will and does work well also.
Im not sure what twist Bryan prefers in his 7 FCP however.

9 twist can work as well, you just are limited to the 180/184 class bullets. I like to shoot the 180-195 class bullets in my 7 FCP's.

This 7FCP has definitely come through for me….I have much confidence in it…The flyer on the left was me having the rifle move in the pocket….wind was approximately 7 mph.
This was at 600 yards and won me the match.

In AZ, its like 118 deg everyday for what seems like forever so I have not been out shooting much, but others are having success with the FCP around the globe I hear... There is a ton of data in this thread and also on Facebook in the 7 FCP page.

Id say about 50/50 but the F class guys are mostly all turn.
