6mm comp match vs 243 ack

I've been reading up on the 6mm cm for my next build and it looks like a great round but the one question I have and hopefully someone can help me. I see people claim 3500+ rds of barrel life in the CM with h1000, why can't this be achieved with the ackley and h1000? Seems that case capacity would be nearly identical

U would think it's doable. One thinking you would need at least the case capacity like 6CM or tad more to utilize H1000 powder. 243AI may be right at the edge.

I have a 6CM chamber reamer and go gauge if u want to own your own reamer. I've cut two barrels with it. I'm not home at moment but I can get u or anyone else the freebore and neck dimensions.

Contact me by PM if u like

huntingfool,

I think it could be, I am shooting the 6 slr, it has about 1grain less capacity than a 243 I am using 47 grains of H1000 as my load, with 105's getting 3K velocity, I have gone up as high as 48.4 with no pressure signs, the chamber has a fairly long fb and so it seems I have the capacity to push 3100 or so. my goal is to run the 105's and get the most barrel life as well. I thought the steeper shoulder and longer neck of the 6slr worth while improvement over the straight 243. can't see why it would be much different with the AI or CM although no fire forming needed on my end.
