I shoot most 100-300yds. (ranges in area)
Looking to rebarrel my 6br for shooting the lighter bullets. (65-68g
Want your recommendations on bullets and twists and barrel length?
i have had three 13.5 - 14 twist 6BR barrels. a Bartlein, a Krieger, and a Shilen. none of them have held a candle to my 12 twist Brux shooting 80 gr Bergers using N135. it also shoots the 68 gr class of bullets very well. these three slower twist barrels have shot some excellent groups, but can't agg the way the 12 twist Brux does.
i have used 68 gr Bart's Ultras, original 68 gr Barts, Euber 68's, Berger 68's and Berger Columns in these three barrels.. no clear winner
i have another 12 twist Brux blank awaiting to be chambered. i may never go back to the slower twist barrels for the 6BR
i have been using 23 inch barrel lengths

80's in a 13.5/14,,,,, just not right.
not shooting 80's in the 13.5/14 twists. i shoot 55 to 68 grainers in those twists and 80 and 68 grs in the 12 twist
Also, what barrel contour?
Do you stay with the heavy varmint and like?
Freebore? I see Alot of you are going with zero to .035
so you are shooting in the 1's with 80's...???
sorry your jump from twist and bullet weight is a poor comparison.
here you go all 80 Bergers @ 100yds, five shot groups
Brux is on a Savage Target Action with the red Accutrigger. 1st photo, the barreled action was in a XLR Industries chassis. the 2nd photo (same action and barrel), it's in a $200 Choate Tactical stock. I shoot using a SEB Joy Pod and Pod Pad off the bench.

If it was my gun I’d say a 13 twist isn’t fast enough with 80gr type bullets. I’d run at least a 12 twist.
Also with the short jacket type bullets in 6mm I wouldn’t use the 5R type rifling. Go conventional type rifling. 4 groove, 5 groove, 6 groove etc...
Also define your accuracy requirement.
