since I see that the most common manufacturers of Savage prefit barrels offer chambers in both Rem 6br and 6br Norma, would I be better off specifying the Rem 6br chamber if I only want to shoot lighter bullets (up to 90g)?

There is no advantage to the 6 Br Rem chamber over the 6 Br Norma. It just has a shorter neck.

You should pay attention to freebore. Ask the barrel maker what freebore they recommend for your bullet.

I think 6mmBR REM brass is hard to find. If your going to buy a custom barrel get a 6BRX. Just load and shoot to FF. Same cost as a 6BR barrel. Same ballistics as a Dasher. My 6BRX shoots under .350" fire forming in a varmint rifle.
