I started out with a new blank had been chambered, so I set the shoulder back and went in with BRDX reamer. Brass OAL has to be adjusted due using the 6BR go Gauge with BRDX reamer, I trimmed to 1.524". Bought a Harrells #2 Dasher die and cut it off for FL sizing duties, thank you Stan Taylor for this fine idea!! I am using a BRX seating die till I get either a blank or modify a BR die.
First trip, uneventful just fireforming, second trip uneventful didnt like Varget, but possibly H4895, brass a touch too tight, as well as neck tension a touch tight. I made adjustments and took sized cases with powder and primers to the 100 yd line today, starting out with some older RL15 sold by High Tech.
31.5 grains with 1978 Berger VLD`s +.010" produced a nice cluster, but was slow at 2887 average. Bumped it to 31.8 grains and things got close to the velocity goal of 2920 as recomended by David Dorris, but the group opened, then I tried Davids suggested load of 32 grains, and I was floored. Velocity was 2945, and 3 shots went into a dot. I went back to load 2 more and changed aim point, and those 2 went into another dot. Needless to say I am done at 100 yds, and will try this soon at 600.
