JimEveryone measures bullets but how many cut them open and look at the core seating? you will soon see the good one's........ jim
Jim
Could you broaden your input to "core seating" inspection.
Would like to hear more in-depth what exactly you look for.

Jim but when you find a good one, it's no longer any good! HA HA
Had to say it.

Bart, I received the 105 Infinities today and they sure look good. I have a 300 yard match Saturday, but I won't be shooting any of these. However, I plan to test some at 600 yards after the match. My plans are to shoot 3, 3shot groups with different seating depths......005 off jam; .010 off jam; and .020 off jam. After I get a rough idea of a good seating depth, I plan to do a mini-ladder test (2 shots each)at that seating depth with 30.2 gr. H4895, 30.4 gr. H4895; 30.6 gr., 30.8 gr. and 31 gr. This barrel shows pressure fairly soon so I will stop at 31.0 gr.Donovan,
I think Jim is looking to see if the bullet’s seated core has the proper amount and concentric bleed-by! Also no scraping of the jacket wall with a core seat punch that’s too big. Or excessive or uneven bleed-by created by too small of a core seat punch.

A Junke machine WILL NOT detect any of those flaws. I’ve owned three of them and ran all kinds of different tests.

Do you think that this is enough testing to determine a good 600 yard load? My rifle now sports a 28 inch barrel and I will chrono my best load after I get home. James

Jim if you are looking to see if the cores seating the same you can also measure with a needle inside the tip to see if they are all the same.

James, I got a sample pack of the Infinities, never shot them yet. They have the rebated boat tail, I hear Bart will use a different boat tail punch if you ask. Are yours rebated or not?
Tim, I have shot both. The new ones that I just received do not have the rebated BT. I checked some of them (base to ogive and they tested great) I am going to shoot a mini-ladder at 600 yards Sat. in my 6mm BRAI and will try to post some of my results. Good shooting....JamesJames, I got a sample pack of the Infinities, never shot them yet. They have the rebated boat tail, I hear Bart will use a different boat tail punch if you ask.
