How temp sensitive has the RE-17 been for people using it? I was shooting in 46 degree weather and I'm wondering what it will shoot like when its twice that warm out.

Jass, You can't get enough in to hurt you with out a drop tube. I used it a little last year and i loaded with a ten"drop tube or it would push the bullets out a little. The best i could get it to shoot was .2 but the 115's went over 3000.....jim

I think I will continue to test the load I'm using and see how it does this year. Like I posted previously, I shot a 0.144 3 shot group last weekend with the Re17/108 BT combo. I will load some more and see how they perform. I was just worried that the temp was 46 degrees when I shot that combination and I'm sure it will be double that temp during the summer months.

I did not know that you had switched to RE17. I thought you were using RE15 (that's onlyfrom memory so don't be offended) Are you still using the 8 twist with the115s? DTACs or Bergers?

John, I'll anything that might work,RL-17,VV550 Varget,H4895 and now back to RL-15 and i have 24lbs. now. I guess you can say i found it to shoot the best. I use it in the 6.5x47 and it still shoots the best there also.......jim

What about the 8 twist for the 115s. I have a 7.5 Schnieder but noted that Berger recommends a 7 . Reluctant as I am to dispute Berger, that seems pretty tight for a bullet that big.

The load that shot the best for me was 105H and 33.5 of RL-15 in .006 and .001 neck tension. it shot a lot of .1's but as low .084 for 5 shots in the Brux barrel the best in the Kreiger was the mid ones, i put the old Brux from last year first group was .187 and it was very windy so i think i'll leave on till it quits. The Kreiger does fire form cases nice..........jim

So I took the dasher barrel off to give the 6x47 Lapua a try shortly after my original post. Anyways I got it put back on yesterday. I went out today to the range. Shot my best 3 shot group so far 0.073 with the 105 Amax and Varget. Had several groups in the 0.1's.
