6.5 Grendel barrel length for 600 yards?

Evening gents,

Thinking about a 6.5 Grendel for targets at 600.

Bolt action platform, not an ar- looking at bullets in the 120-130 range.

Was thinking 1:8 twist, would there be much to be gained at 26" over 24"?

Thoughts/opinions?

I have two bolt guns and an ar, which are 20” and all shoot well at 600. You gain about 50fps with two inches. The lighter bullet is probably more of a factor than the 50fps compared to bigger-cased bolt guns shooting 140-150gn bullets. Pick one and have fun.

Have played with the Grendel quite a bit in both bolt and AR platform. "Steel" guns, not BR or benchrest. The current AR wears a 24 inch tube, 8 twist, and has proven to work out to 1200 yards on MOA steel targets.
Berger 130 AR Hybrids and Leverevolution powder have been the best combos in several Grendels for me when ranges start to stretch out.
