30"Brux bbl ,no I shoot a naked bullet. I also shoot Lapua brass. I took my rifle to the squirrel ranches yesterday. My rifle probably weights 12 lbs with scope. Its tough to hit them squirrels at 300 yds with their jumping around in the affalfa or dead crops plus dealing with boil when scope is above 12-16x. Range estimation is still critical . Plus that gun kicks enough to take you way off target.A spotter is a must to help you zero rifle in field conditions. I think I'm going to have a muzzle brake installed.

my gun will have the 30" varmint contour barrel on it and i would expect it to weigh 16+ since rite now if i throw it on a spring scale i have it is rite at or just above 15lbs and thats with a 26" varmint contourbarrel on it. i guess i would get a break if i was you and wanted to see impacts. i really dont think that i will need that being on a bi pod and all.

have you had any problems with the lapua brass and pushing those sierras that fast? i am real interested to see what i can do with the precision ballistics bullets when they get here.

No problem and I think the reason is a 5 star gunsmith chambered this bbl. Last bbl the gunsmith was a rookie . Last bbl was a Hart Varmint contour 26" ,it was heavy. This bbl has a Brux standard Palma contour. AT muzzle its around .800"

well its looking like this barrel isnt going to be here tell next week now as they are waiting on the reamer to get there. sounds like a good scapegoat as why its gonna be late. i would think if you have a barrel suppose to be done at a set time you would get the reamer there sooner than needed.

can anyone tell i am anxious to get this going?

i received my 100 grain vlds saturday and can not wait for my barrel to get here now so that i can load up some rounds and see how they do.

does anyone shoot 100 grain bullets?
i am looking for some load data for this bullet weight

i got this rifle put together today after the barrel being over a week late. it looks awesome though the bluing job is more black than anything.

heavy, but should be fun to shoot when i have the loads figured out. need a decent day to go and shoot the ones i have made up and check my data.
i am interested to see what velocity i get out of this barrel

Very nice indeed Calib, will tis be the rifle you take to the shoot? my boss still hasn't gave me a answer of yes or no >:( I go back to work tomorrow and I will jump him about it,...nicely of course as I want it off.
Wayne.

thanks i probably will shoot this gun if i can get out and shoot some loads and figure one out. if not ill shoot my 243 ai

hope you can get it off we need some shooters

precision ballistics
they are the first 100 that don made of them and he wants me to try them out. he said try to blow them up cause i was worried about pushing my 95grn bergers so fast they would blow up. these are a target vld made off of the j4 jacket like bergers but with tighter tolerances and smaller meplats he sent me a bunch of different sizes to sponsor my match that i am throwing may 19th

i think some where on there there is an article about brian litz checking them out and they are just a bit better than bergers bc's

Ok thanks ! I checked them and the 108 gr VLD is less then my Sierra 107 ? Plus 10$ more per hundred.

Ironworker,
I am a Sierra fan but have you ever measured them? have you ever looked at the meplats ? If you want great results with Sierras you will have to sort,..I do anyway and pointing and meplat trimming is a big help, with Don's bullets all that has been done for you,...just a thought anyway.
Wayne.

P.S I have never shot Don's bullets but they sound good anyway
