$ 6.00 @ gal.

Now that the new PIPE LINE from Canada has been shut down by POTUS gas is sure to go up, it's been said POTUS would be happy when gas is $6 dollar a gallon well it just may be on it's way there now.
Just check what gas was back in Nov. 2008 was.

This a related question about speed limits. Here in the UK the speed limit on motorways (freeways?) is 70mph and is the maximum speed within the UK. We also have limits from 60mph down to 30mph for other roads (not motorways). Does the USA have the same standardisation like the UK, or can individual states determine their own speed limits? What is the maximum speed limits on your motorways/freeways?
Just curious!

I think the article at the link below will answer some of your questions.

http://www.investmentu.com/2011/September/diesel-fuel-export-record-highs.html

In short, the rest of the World understands the benefits of diesel fuel and takes advantage of it for fueling all transportation vehicles not just trucks. In Europe they go so far as slashing government taxes on diesel to encourage its use. In the land of President Milk Chocolate Chicago Hustler that ain"t going to happen.

The same thing is going to happen with natural gas unless we start encouraging its use for transportaion fuel and electricity production (over solar and wind).

I have a station down the street from my house and gas is 2.81 and diesel is 3.56. .75 per gallon difference??? give me a break!

I can't even believe this thread was drug back up?? I have no idea how much diesel is here, I burn about $1000 per month, the pickup, tractor, ATV,car,..whatever is low I fill it up,.......won't run with out it,....so I fill it up because I am to lazy to walk, pull a plow, or haul a load myself. I think it is around $4.00 per gallon, I only buy maybe 30 gallons of gasoline a month, chain saws, one ATV and lighting the dump and slash piles, everything else is diesel but I think it is around $3.70 per/Gal, do I like paying these steep prices?....NO but I also don't like paying $40 for a box of bullets, I don't like spending $3100 for a new rifle scope, I didn't like spending the $1200 for this laptop I am typing on and I don't like paying $200 p/ton for hay to feed my cattle,..but,....but
if I want to continue going forward and progressing in life I have no choice but to pay! Look at it another way, I am a Electrician at a ammunition plant I make going wages for that job,....not near the top paying job in the USA but a decent living, I can put 85.8 gallons of diesel in my tank on a days wages! My Grandad made top wage on a horse drawn thrashing machine as a sack sower/jigger,... this was 1931 and he made $1.00 per day, NOT $100.00 p/day,...$1.00 p/day!! he had a 1928 Plymouth sedan that got 20 something p/gal at best and the Gas cost $.28 p/gal so he could put 3.57 gallons of gas in his tank on a days wages so when did fuel really cost more, now? or in 1931?.... I guess these threads gives us something to bellyache about and if were here bellyaching we can't be burning expensive fuel!!
Bellyache on!!

Wayne,
You getting AG diesel at the ranch? I picture you with a 500gal tank or better somewhere over by the barn.
Robert,
Funny you mentioned that,..Answer,..NO! I used to have a 600 gallon tank of Gasoline and 300 gallons of diesel (years ago) and several times I had all 600 gallons go into the ground because the kids left the ball valve on and walked off to do something else and like most kids there attention span is nil, I could not afford the fuel but especially I couldn't afford the contamination problems, I live 100' from a beautiful river, I am not a bunny loving tree hugging environmentalist but I do love the land and don't want to destroy it so NO I haul it in pickup slip tanks (150 gallons) at a time. So far I have had no more spills.

Oh and no to the AGG fuel, I used to do that but it is only like $.20 p/gal difference and I have 7 diesel pickups that needs fuel and it's to hard to keep it separate so I buy regular road diesel.

I heard that and feel the same way. Besides that, darn chickens will eat anything and the next thing you know, there more in the scrambled eggs than what's for breakfast!

You don't have to be one of those damn tree huggers to love the land. I'm with you guys.

And Wayne makes a good point about how much fuel you can buy with a day's wages.

I work for my family's excavating company and when we are busy we burn 800 gallons a day. So at the prices I stated before, It cost $14,000 a week and would be $3,000 cheaper if it was the price of gas. So with all these prices and the economy in the crapper, it sure is hard to stay afloat. But it sure is weird that the stock market is almost back to 13,000. ::) And we are all but dead in the construction world.

Hoier, there is nothing wrong with that picture. Just ask any of your elected government officials and they will tell you so.
