$ 6.00 @ gal.

Cost me $100.00 in gas to go varmint hunting this weekend. We need to make changes in Washington, perhaps the next group will learn, enough is enough and we are made as hell. Perhaps gas should be used as a inflation indicator not refrigerators, and your wages should keep pace with gas prices. Washington may not set fuel prices directly, they do have an indirect impact. We need new refineries, and a way to get crude to them. Not drilling in the gulf has sent 1000's of jobs to other parts of the world, and we are all paying the bill.
Hate to complain but we need to get out and vote to make a difference.

I'm hoping we get something going with using natural gas as a transportation fuel. We could rid ourselves of the OPEC monkey on our back once an for all. I see the truckers are starting to change over and with prices of LNG at record lows this could put the country back in forward economic gear. Hog

As I hear the complaints about gasoline prices, I wonder how many can honsestly hold up thier hands and say, "I didn't vote for the current president". Because someone surely did, I'm sorry folks but we deserve this, and we'll get more if he's re-elected, which he probably will be. As I pound my key board in anger while typing this, just remember President Bush had started drilling way back several years ago, the current administration stopped that drilling, that drilling would be online or close to being online now, so don't say drilling won't help, please. We all, every single one of us need to throw our hands in the pile and get in the fight come November like we never have before in this countries history, America needs us!
Just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I agree Dave but I really doubt that the many hunters, shooters, gun collectors, reloaders and such from this site are to question. I rewrote that last line no less than 10 times trying to get it toned properly. Everyone I know will be there to vote in November.

Dave T,
100% spot on and my exact thoughts to a tee, a very sad thought but I am afraid your post as I said is,............................SPOT ON!!

VOTE PEOPLE and vote the right way in November or were DONE as we know it, this site will be done because there will be no need for a gun site when none of us have guns!!! Look up 1930's Germany and you will see where were heading people!
Wayne.

The gov't needs to re-regulate oil, like it was before the early 70's. Either that or trade the middle east a pound of corn or a half pound of small grain per gallon of oil. They are starving us, time to return the favor.

Gas prices were just as high while the last yay-hoo was in office. Amazing how fast people forget when there is someone else to pin the blame on. I voted for both of them, I'll admit.

I definitely wouldn't have done that! and I for sure wouldn't have admitted it! GWB was a idiot but he was a American,.....the puke that is in there now can't say that!!!
Wayne.

I remember gas prices were high at one point under Bush, but he started drilling and it takes a few years to get anything out of drilling, we would be getting that now, but like coal here in WV it was stopped. Don't for get gasoline was 2.79 when Bush left the White House. And folks, I'm not saying just "go vote", I'm saying we are in a fight! We are in a fight for this country! Sure we love our sport and our guns, but this is much bigger then just that, this is about the United States of America! articmp, I really admire you for admitting to voting for our current anti gun President, but I would surely hope that you have seen as most of us have seen that he and his followers are hell bent on changing our country in ways that just make me shutter in my shoes. Please articmp, don't ever ever never compare President Bush in the same sentence with our current president, never ever ever. At least GW loved this country and would do nothing to hurt America.

I have a theory on high gas prices based on opinion, and what happened a few years back. While I am in favor of "drill baby drill", I believe speculation is the biggest cause of over inflated gas prices. I had suspected that for quite some time. Wall Street and the politicians were claiming it was the increased demand from India and China that was "fueling" the high prices. While there may well be increased demand, it does not happen at the same rate the price of oil increases on the futures markets. Think about it, back in 2008 oil futures prices ran rampant. The banks all of a sudden faced a financial crisis (brought on largely by Barney Franks and his liberal buddies forcing them to grant mortages to persons with no means to ever repay those loans). Money for oil futures speculation dried up and price of gas at the pump dropped rapidly from the upper $3 bracket, to something like a buck eighty per gallon. What happened? Did all of those consumers from India and China suddenly stop driving their cars? H*** NO! The banks did not have money to dump into the futures game. Well the politicians, including GW, told us that we must "bail out" the banks or face another great depression. We, the taxpayer, footed the bailout. The banks were saved, oil prices have once again skyrocketed, and the working poor are in a very real struggle. I think speculation is the biggest cause of high oil prices and that the banks are the biggest speculators. Maybe some one can prove me wrong on this? If I am correct, this speculation could be stopped, but it won't. Big money runs this country. Big money will win the Republican nomination for president. There seems to be no way to get a true conservative on the ticket. I believe it was Wayne that stated on here about studying Germany in the 30's. He is 100% correct. First they registered the guns, then they confiscated them, and lastly they gased millions of people. The second ammendment ain't about duck hunting. We are having a real battle here in WI. over removing collective bargaining privileges from State employees. I know of sportsmen that have sold their soul to the Dems, in order that the State and public union employees can receive 100% taxpayer funded retirement and health care. IMO there is something frightening about that. While I distrust 90% of politicians, myself, as a freedom loving American, could never support the Democratic party. To each his own. Vote your conscience. Think about this though, will you sell your soul for a party that deliberately sold thousand of guns to Mexican Drug Cartels in order to further their case for more gun regulation? All I am saying is take time to become informed. We are at a real tipping point in this country. Not only in terms of losing our Freedom, but we are on the brink of financial disaster. We cannot begin to pay the interest we owe China and the politicians keep buying votes on borrowed money. My intent is not to belittle anyone. I respect everyone's right to their opinion, I only hope to promote the desire to have an informed opinion. You cannot obtain facts from a liberal ran news media.

DaveT, I know what ya mean by the coal comment. I am from Greenbrier County. Worked for a major equipment manufacturer a few years back. Watched a third of the employess get sent out the door when Obammy put the push on the EPA to start scrutinizing permits. They were just doing their jobs. Most of the regs on coal mining were put in place back in the 60's and 70's, so they were just trying to play catch up. And I saw towns wither up and go in the crapper during the late 80's when the mines shut down and walked away. I had another job that I was downsized from. Watched the corp. pack up the tooling and sent it to Mexico and Canada. NAFTA has not been nice to the US. We, as consumers like cheap goods. But when the economy takes a downward spiral, we need to look at where we buy are stuff from. And to the poster that said not to compare Obama and Bush: Were you doing any better financially when Bush was in office? I saw my dad's retirement shrink 12 fold while Bush was there. It takes more than 4 years to screw up as bad as what we are living through now. The gas price increase can be tied right back to the Bush relative who pushed to deregulate oil while Nixon was in office. You should never let the fox in the hen house, let the wolf shepherd the flock, or put an oil man in control of oil prices.

I heard on the radio a few months ago that 48.6% of families in the USA receive some form of financial assistance from the Federal government. Until that number changes, the fate of our country may already be decided. Voting may not change anything.

Interesting battles going on here in MN and across the river in WI requiring a photo ID to be presented to vote. MN's governor vetoed the law. You should hear the uproar. The unions are screaming gainst such policies. But, you can't vote in a union election without an ID. The unions have become the libs brown shirts of 70 -80 years ago. Voter fraud is rampant, and the libs are protecting their turf and securing their future. I can't fly, write a check, open a bank account or buy a beer without an ID. I can walk up and vote by telling them my name. WTF?

Scott

timeout, you are correct. Nobody bails the little man out when he is in a pickle. Why in the heck did the little guys (taxpayers) have to bail out the big guys? Another thing that is messing up this country, major corps that rely on the US to cover retiree benefits. What the heck happened to company pensions? The CEO's start cutting those out to give themselves bonuses and pay raises.

Thanks for posting! I have posted informative links in the past and it appears that no one reads them. Instead we get the ignorant, uninformed babble of the sort posted by "articmp."

The difference is that when Obama was running for president, according to him, high gas prices were the presidents fault, and now they are not! Explain that!

Erik, you sir are correct. As for Jim T, do your own research, I have. I am just not in the mood to copy and paste to defend my comments. You learn more when you search and absorb on your own, instead of somebody handing you a link to someone elses research. I've been at the Capitol, had dinner whith Senators and such. I have saw where our tax paying dollars go.
