Well we hit 9 pages and it's till running.
I guess you hit a nerve too. The all high exhaulted one
Told the news media that there was going to be an investigation LOL I guess we all could talk about the politics that drive this country and the Rats that have sunk the ship some are still there and others have been chnged , still nothing is done.

wait a min..... if your not an idot ride a bike..... that in my opinion is an oxymoron.....you sound as if you are promoting bikes as a way to save gas.... true but to me safety comes first......the younger you are the more invincible and immortal you think you are.....there are so many variables that you have no control over and it doesn't matter how much safety gear you put on and really pay attention you are more likely to get killed on a bike with an accident than even in a cracker jack box car.....where i come from cows get out once in awhile.... a black angus cow is fairly hard to see at night when it is darker than 3 or 4 feet up an elephants trunk... even on hi beam...lost a neighbor that way..yes on a bike...i have seen so many accidents with bikes that it is rediculous.....and 95 percent are not the bike riders fault......a few .... another person running a red light .... pulling out of an alleyway..... backing out of a driveway .... a friend of my sons was going down a road that is heavily traveled and a 40 mph speed limit... seasoned rider... lady turned right in front of him... didn't have time to even blink.... another roadside white cross...and this was in town....loose gravel lost off a truck layed it down right into oncoming traffic......
the worst is the good ole drunk driver.....we have even lost a few highway patrol officers to them here in this state and they were driving cruisers.....trying to head butt a three quarter ton truck going 70 mph that swerves right in front of you doesn't turn out very good...even in a mhp cruiser and these guys are trained in defensive driving...alot of things we don't have control over.....life is really short....it's like wind across the grass or wheat field......

So what you're trying to say, with your malformed grammar, is that you're an idiot if you ride a bike? All these 'safety' generalizations and stereotypes people are making about bikes here remind me an awful lot of the people that do the same about firearms. All these assumptions, scenarios and BS being touted about how bikes are unsafe are ludicrous and I can tell they're coming from people who don't ride who know nothing about what it really entails, including how to ride safely. Just like an anti-gun person, just keep going ahead with making your wild unfounded assumptions about how something isn't safe though.

Here's something that's surely going to make everything better though: EPA Rules force Shell to abandon oil drilling plans http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/04/25/energy-america-oil-drilling-denial/ 28 billion barrels of oil just went up in smoke.

Gentlemen, and I don't use that term loosely, this talk about motorcycles is nothing more than opinions. Everyone is entitled to opinions and even if we don't agree with another persons opinion, we have to respect that person none the less. I've been in my share of "disagreements" on here and have taken some way too far. I regret doing so also. We're all friends on here and I have disagreements with friends from time to time but, I still respect them. I'm not taking sides on this debate, just trying to rationally intervene is all. Thanks!

Well if your safety comes first I sure hope you are here just to learn about something and you are not actually firing these evil guns because I know of people that have died from guns, and lets not even consider reloading, that is using gun powder and explosives...bla bla bla... ::)

Sorry gentlemen if what I'm about to say has already be said, but I'was just too lazy and frankly don't have time to read the first 8 pages.
1. We have more than enough gas. :o
2. there is no oil shortage. ::)
3. The oil companies are making massive profits off the scare that the trouble in the Middle East MAY create an oil shortage. >:(
4. The oil companies are taking advantage of the American public due to the activities of the oil speculators. >:( :(
All right children, can you say CORPORATE GREED?
Even the liberal ABC Nightly News was squawking about what was going on last night and out and out said, "Corporate greed was what was going on." You know it's bad when the libs start griping.
The only good thing I see coming from this is it might be the thing that keeps Obama from a second term. Now that would make my day. Impeachment now and speedy trial would make an even better day. can we say, "It's obama's fault?" ;D

Actually we have a fox watching the hen house We are guaranteed chicken on the table every night;; ;D
I wonder how much the politcans are making off of this one?
Bikes? Naw I prefer a horse. A horse is way better. It can go cross country and after you feed it you get something in return, thats great for your garden. NO insurance companies with a HORSE. They can't make much money from that deal. You can actually get some work out of
Horse , till your garden, pull a cart ride it , you get your moneys worth.
Not to mention you can breed it. Try that with a Bike. ;D LOL
Are we laughing yet???

15 tango.... attacking me because of my grammer? have at it...and yeah i write funny also...you might want to re-read my post... i in noway was attacking you personally.......
if you check some if my posts you will see that i have riden bikes ... more than likely before you were born....and i preficed it by "my opinion" as i said your can wear all the safety gear and drive as careful as anybody can and still be in an accident.... a drunk driver hits you head on at 70 mph and you ain't gonna survive...you just can't control that....and.the other things a mentioned aren't hear say.. those are a few of the accidents that i know about....NOT B.S. and no ludicrous assumptions.... I'm not sure where the anti-gun thing came from.... and i didn't say bikes were unsafe.....i know a lot of guys that have ridden boocu miles and not been in an accident... what i do know is that there are more bikes on the road and more accidents happening.....and alot of them had nothing to do with the driver....you really don't have to justify to anyone that you ride a bike...........

crashnrondo.......you need to do your homework...... your response in my opinion was juvenile

My bad, I thought you were calling bike riders idiots because its dangerous, that in my opinion was "juvenile". I then linked that to shooting guns like you said you have no control what the other idiots on the roads do, same thing goes for idiots at the gun range. We have no control over what they have done to there firearm or there reloading practices so the gun "could" blow up with us next to it.

interesting .... what i read into it was that your and idiot if you don't ride a bike..
and how many people are killed by guns accidentaly compared to how many are killed by vehicles every year.....and yeah i'm not sure why the gun thing even came up..... NOBODY REALLY HAS TO JUSTIFY WHY THEY RIDE A BIKE

My opinion on the bikes;

Saftey, they can be very safe, The driver needs to have very high situational awareness, because most auto drivers who cause bike accidents don't.

I owned 5 bikes over the last 25 years, wrecked the 2nd one, my own fault young and dumb.
After that I never put the miles on them like I had previous, owned 3 more and never put more than 2000 miles on each of the 3. Been bikeless for 6 years. The idea of hitting a deer in WI from 98-2006 was very scary as we were overrun with them. Now that the population is down and gas is up I am even considering buying a small bike for my daily drive into the shop.

I love riding but just not sure I want the lack of room for hauling anyting other than my butt.

a friend of mine sold his car a few years ago and decided to just use a ordinary bicycle for his daily commute. when i asked him if this wasn't an inconvenience as he would be unable to haul any cargo or travel long distances, he replied that the few days a year he actually needed a car/truck, he just rented one. and that in the end he was saving huge amounts of money.

while i can't say im willing to follow his example just yet, i find it hard to deny that he has one hell of a point. his bulging wallet says everything!

When my very small rice burner that gets 30 miles to the gallon needs replacing, I'll go for something like this one that gets 200 MPGe.

Did I make page 10? Nope. :D

Well guys i hope the pres. gets the message we send, i am sure they watch the forums for feed back. This is a gun forum talking about gas prices, scary. When he said there would not be a COLA raise this year you can bet it was a lie again. They were ready for it and feds. got there cola. raise 2.2 %.
I guess it's time to get off the soap box and deal with the things i can control, like the upcoming 1K matches.........jim

guys don't feel too bad.I have to not only fill my truck ( 2500HD ) up but have to fill the mowers and trimers up as well.and yes do to the gas prices I have even lost a few clients thinking they will come out cheaper buying a mower to do their own yards.

but I do feel just as many of you do.the price of gas/fuel is too high.but we all have said it we will still end up buying it as we need it.we just need to pray that the GOOD LORD will soon act to help us out.for he comes first in my house then the rest.but hey thats me and my family so take it a grain of salt if you have to.

We are living in troubled times indeed. Our nation as we once knew it is crumbling right before our eyes. And the "working man" is getting beat up the most. I fear for the youth in this country.

a drunk driver hits you head on at 70 mph and you ain't gonna survive...you just can't control that....and.the other things a mentioned aren't hear say

A drunk driver hitting you head-on at 70, your odds in a car or truck aren't that great either.

Trucks are a purpose-driven vehicle in my opinion; great for hauling things, towing things and all that, they're not the ideal vehicle for commuting you and just you back and forth on a 100+ mile commute. Just like a bike's not good for hauling things or doing the things a truck does, but it's great, for the most part, for commuting. A smaller fuel-efficient vehicle's cutting the difference between the two.

Watching people complain about gas prices when they're driving a truck as a commuter is as inane to me as somebody with a motorcycle complaining they can't tow a fifth wheel very well.

Ha,Ha,Ha, LOL......LOL...... :D ;D :) ::)
Absolutely 100% spot on 15tango ;)
I used to ride a bike years ago, trying to save money while raising three children but felt I wouldn't get the job done if I continued riding the bike, I worked night shift commuted 98 miles round trip each day through heavily populated elk and deer country so I chose to sell the bike and buy a Geo Metro
(not much difference) I only have one child left at home and he is , mostly self sufficient now, so I drive a older 2 wheel drive diesel pickup back and forth to work, I live in steep rugged country and often haul things back and forth for the ranch and average about 17-18 mpg I don't complain about the price it's just the way it is, I average a little over $1000 per month in fuel
do I like it?....... NO all I can do is vote for who I think will do the best job and talk to others that don't and try to convince them to do so. Again nice post 15tango and spot on ;) Oh and by the way if I worked day shift or was just commuting around town I wouldn't be at all scared to ride a bike again.
Wayne.
