.30-06 F-Class Rifle

Back to the original post ... interesting that the load is the same as used for years with 190's in the .30-06 -- back when that was the caliber nearly everyone shot @ 600 and 1000. Shot my 1st 1000 yd. with a Win. 54 HB target in .30-06 and IMR 4350. Have been working on a .30-06 Ack. for long range. Great shooting rifle you have there.

I love the 30-06. Was one of my first deer rifles. I passed it down to a step son since he just bought his first piece of property. He loves it. Hopefully he'll make as good of memories with it that I have.

Claymore's from bison ballistics.

I am going to ignore the PC patrol and ask about the chamber of the barrel. I have read that there are a couple of ver of the Serengeti reamer and was curious as to which one you used, and how close did it match the print?

Sir, as far as the Serengeti version, I bought the reamer approx 3 years ago. All I known is that I sent it to my smith and he did his magic. The reamer is mine and has been used 2x. This rifle shoots lights out.

Nice rifle. Terrible name.

If the name offended you, I am almost sorry. You need to get over it. First of all, it was named after a black female retriever. Secondly, as a CCW instructor, I have many many black students that have seen the rifle and take absolutely no offense to this and have actually thought it was a cool name.

Third, I never asked you to opine on the rifles name nor what I call it. I would hate for you to go to my dads hometown in Ireland, where they have The Black Bitch Pub too. You might get offended and try to have it shut down because of your sensitivities.

It didnt offend me at all. Not one bit.

Sorry for the off topic response. Back to the black rifle thread. I own a couple ARs because black guns do matter. No BS, they matter in the field, range or defense. These are not assault rifles but sporting rifles that get a bad rap. They look bad ass yes. But they are no different than my Remington 742, Browning BAR 270 or Winchester 100. All semis but without the all black intimidating look. No, I'm not saying that black people look intimidating so please don't go there. I'm making a point that Black guns ( ARs) have purpose to law abiding gun owners/shooters/hunters. I don't use mine very often as they just aren't as user friendly toting in the woods (IMO) as my bolt guns or even semi auto slim stocked carry rifles. I suspect eventually just the color of rifles will intimidate to the point that they'll be labeled assault rifles. They actually are today by some people. At family get togethers, I hear some of my relatives make comments on a picture of a black bolt action rifle being called an assault rifle. I have to educate them on facts. Lack of knowledge and too much media BS really takes its toll on the uninformed obviously. BTW, your Black Bitch rifle is a beauty.

Thanks for you comments

Garandman, if you don't like the name of his rifle, maybe the women on this site would find your name offensive because the PC police would say "garandman" is not gender neutral. Maybe Justin Trudeau will chime in and recommend you change your name to Garandpeople..

Ridiculous

It is. The leftist anti gun reality here is ridiculous. Prudence dictates NOT giving them a baseball bat to beat us with.

We all *know* what would happen if the same ppl who call the NRA a terrorist org got wind of this thread.

Wisdom dictates we NOT help them demonize us.

This is all hilarious....anyhow, I have long thought about an f open rifle in .30-06. so easy to load for and great components. Back to the other posts, and this is no joke, we had to change all of our qual targets years back to the standard Q target because a staff member raised a stink on why the targets we were using were black.

Had a shooting buddy that shot High Power with a M1 Garand. His rifle was custom made. Light weight Walnut stock and a chrome plated action. He died and I took it upon myself round up and sell all his shooting gear for his wife.
I stashed the rifle for a while while I concentrated on getting rid of the rest his gear. Thought about keeping it for myself SO,
I fired his rifle a few times and couldn't get rid of it fast enough. That sucker KICKED LIKE A MULE!!! Beautiful rifle but just not for me. His wife asked me about his Favorite rifle and I told her I was in no hurry to sell it till I got the price I wanted.
Took it to the LGS and put it on consignment. The owner of the store asked me what I wanted for it? $1000.000!! He mentioned that was to much but after I mentioned all the extra work and $$ that went into building it he priced it and put it in the rack. I remember him saying something about it not moving too fast because of the high price tag? He called me the next day. SOLD!! When I handed his wife the CASH, she almost fell over. I told her I wasn't letting it go till I got my price.;)
Come to find out later, that rifle and my shooting buddy had a BUNCH of Trophies and ribbons that he won in matches. He was a NRA Judge and was as deaf as a post from NOT wearing ear protection over the years. I have his log book, a bunch of his patches, a few of his Trophies and his shooting glasses. Funny thing is, we did RC Airplanes and VERY LITTLE gun stuff. Didn't know much about his shooting till after he was gone. We did have fun with his BSA Martini shooting rats from under his goose house.:D
Robert Lee Belt, I miss you my friend.:)
