22 GT cartridge

Dies are a non-issue on the 22GT, seriously.
Buy a 6GT sizing die with bushings, choose the correct bushing for the brass/.224 bullets.
For sizing dies, Hornady makes a universal seating die that is actually quite good - or try the notably more expensive, but really amazing (speaking from experience) Short Action Customs "The" Seating Die.

Working on a 22GT project myself. Do you find any issue with bumping the shoulder back when using the 6GT die and appropriate bushing?

We machined a 223 Lee Collet neck die .125 or whatever the difference were in the 2 cases and built a same height spacer on top of the die to get an inexpensive neck size die. Use a 6 GT full length Hornady die to bump the shoulders back as needed. Nice little cartridge. Four of us have them so far… reamer built with a .250 tight neck and .150 free bore. Shooting 80-88 Eldms. Runs the 88 s 3075-3100 FPS without beating on it when using 27” barrels. Fun cartridge.
Good Luck.

Anyone have any updates to share on the 22 GT? Pics or results?
I’ve had one built. I let the gunsmith, who is excellent, use a .169 KURD reamer on my barrel. I have 2 REM/Var & 1 M24 22 barrels. It excellent for the 88 ELDs, A-tips, & 90 SMKs. It is absolutely to long for for I want to shoot which is a 85.5 Berger LRHT. I made a post on FBs 22 GT forum outlining this using measurements & pics.
Edit: I didn’t give anyone specs. Impact 737, Hawkhill.224/219 7 twist 22”. I’ve shot 88 ELDs & 90 SMKs in it. Less than 100 rds shot due to heat wave. I couldn’t get better than 1/2” moa w/ 88s. Got a couple of sub 1/4” w/ 90 SMKs. I have about 4-5 barrels worth of 85.5 LRHTs I want to shoot. I have 2 more barrels I’m looking for freebore to use as it’s definitely a no-go in a .169 freebore.

Lots of 22GT brass in stock now. Alpha’s website, Blue Collar reloading, GA Precision. I wish a few dies makers made the dies but that’s not a big deal.

If you have a 22GT and have anything to add please do so, thinking about building a 22GT.
you can get a 22 GT Micron die set at Bullet Central. I love the sizer, but not the seater as they don’t offer custom seating stems as Whidden does.
