I lost a bet and so I am leaving for Phoenix on Friday morning to take part in the MR and LR Nationals. I am bringing my camera and plan to post pictures throughout the events. As in past years, the pictures will be at the nikonimage site and if someone sees a picture they wish me to remove, send me a PM here with the DSC number of the picture and I will remove it as quickly as I can.

Finally got here. The last 100 miles were a nightmare; huge rainstorm and nobody knows how to drive in the rain in and around Phoenix.

I stopped at the Pima Air & Space Musuem on the way in. I spent a couple hours in there and took lots of pictures. I uploaded a half-dozen.

I'm liking that F-86. What a beautiful aircraft.

That GAU-8's impressive, but in a completely different way. Just a brute of a gun. And it can shoot 20 for record in .3077 seconds. Can't make weight, though . . .

It's a D-21. Yes, the last time I saw one was at the museum in Seattle about 25 years ago. It was on top of an SR-71. That was fake, of course, since they only ever mounted them on an M-12 (converted A-12). They lost the plane and the drone on their first attempt and never tried again.

I have a lot more pics of the Pima museum, but I only uploaded 6. Maybe I'll upload more at some point. That museum is fantastic. We'll worth the stop.

If you’re ever in Ohio… the Air Force museum in Dayton is unbelievable! Was there two full days and still didn’t see everything!
