2018 Northern Rockies NRA Long Range Tournament F-Class and Sling - Missoula, Montana

The Northern Rockies NRA Long Range and F-Class Tournament is coming up soon, with the F-Class portion September 7th -9th and the Sling portion two weeks later September 21st-23rd.

The Deep Creek Range in Missoula is well known for its (typically) friendly conditions with many high scores and national records fired there. Many shoot their personal bests there, and there have been 25+ NRA national records fired there in various categories over the last 10 years.


Each weekend kicks off with a 4 person team Palma format match (800-900-1000yds) on Friday afternoon followed by individual long range matches (800-900-1000yds) on Saturday and Sunday. There is a catered BBQ dinner on Saturday evening. Team matches are a great opportunity to not only get zeros for the weekend, but to also refine your wind doping skills. If you want to fire on a team, but don't have one, be sure to contact us and we will get you on a team.


The Missoula area offers many great attractions for those interested in making a vacation out of attending the matches. The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation HQ is in Missoula, and there are a great many rafting, fishing and hunting opportunities as well. Not far away are the National Bison Refugee, Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park.


The level of competition will continue to be high with many of those attending being national team members, national record holders and national champions. The tournament also attracts many from oversees and from our neighbor to the North. Be sure to make a point of attending this year (or next)!

Everyone - just a heads up on the upcoming Northern Rockies LR prone and F-Class tournament.

Over the years we have had many great shooters come to Missoula and shoot, and along the way there have been a lot of NRA National Records fired there too. Many have fired their personal bests, and we are hopeful this year’s tournament will measure up to previous years.

The F-Class weekend (Sept 7-9th)has been sold out for a while and there is a waiting list. I encourage anyone still wanting to shoot to get on the waiting list on practiscore as there are always cancellations and one might very well get in on the tournament.

The sling weekend has 3 spots remaining. If the tournament does not fill up with sling shooters, I will offer the remaining spots to any F-classers that want to shoot in the tournament.

The prize table is growing as we approach the tournament and many thanks to J Smith for being the volunteer that takes care of the sponsors. We do have some significant prizes from Montana companies in addition to many other great companies. One of our long time F-class shooters that started with us in the beginning (about 10 years ago), has been manufacturing suppressors. I am thrilled to announce that Rex Silentium will be donating two suppressors, one for each tournament.
